I saw somebody recommend this dinner show on a thread a few days ago.

Our daughter and family were thinking about going to the Pirate Dinner Show, but the reviews seem very bad. However the small amount I can find on this show are all fantastic.

Can anyone comment more please?

Also what do you think of Wonderworks as an attraction in itself?

Hi Marilyn,

I have done both Pirates (2 years ago) and the Outta Control Magic Show (4 years ago).

We enjoyed both, but IMHO I think we enjoyed OCMS better than pirates. I go into these dinner things with little expectation in terms of the quality of food / drink.

OCMS was pizza dinner. We found a good deal on tickets online somewhere (search for the best price you can get). Show was OK. Very much child oriented, lots of audience interaction (our audience was only about half full, perhaps less, as we were in off season) . Pizza was homemade, passable. Not wow. DS (5 at that time) enjoyed the show, but for adults the magic is a little corny. We had a laugh and some food.

Pirates - again we found the best deal we could online. Even then it was more $ than OCMS. Show was OK, but it is one of those shows that you have to get into the spirit of (cheering for your pirate, booing the others). We had fun. Food was passable, but very little portions. DD was 2 at the time and was free - what they didn't tell us was that she wouldn't get any food. So I had to share mine with her and there was little food to share (DD was a good eater!). Pre show they have appetizers - I would recommend filling up on those before the show. Opportunity to upgrade this and that (for extra $$). Server was not very cheerful or responsive (and we are not demanding people to wait on).

For the money, OCMS was better, but we had fun at both. Totally different experiences. Totally different themes.

I have heard good things about the Seaworld Luau if you are interested and also the Hoop De Doo Review at Fort Wilderness. Not tried either - both are on my to do list prior to our Tortola cruise. See you on the Mickey Boat!

Thanks Kay, that was very helpful. I will pass it on to our daughter. The two girls(7) are having a MK girly day and having lunch in the castle while the boys go off to Kennedy. I think our daughter was thinking of something a bit different for the older boys(11 and 9)

Oh, so looking forward to the cruise.:cool1:
