What happened to this pavillion? Are there any ideas for replacements of Body Wars and Cranium Command? I didn't even realize they were gone until my dh and I were there this past weekend w/o kids and decided to check out some attractions we never get to. I guess we missed them, been there a few years ago.

Apparently they have closed this pavillion and dismantled the rides. Nothing has been said about what they intend to do with the pavillion. My family liked the Body Wars ride, but we didn't find a lot to interest us in the rest of the pavillion. It was never very crowded when we were there. I guess that is an indication as to why it is now closed. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Never tried Cranium Command, but I hated Body Wars...I always got so motion sick on that ride. Much worse that Mission Space in that way, for me.

I'm sure they'll come up with something great to put in that space, eventually.

Cranium Command was very cool and entertaining. I could get queasy just thinking about Body Wars.:earsboy:

I loved the 'Wonders of Life' pavilion...Body Wars, Cran Command, and the bikes they had around where you get to pedal your way through Disneyland...uber neat! :3dglasses

Goofy About Health was entertaining too :)

I can't wait to see what they will do next, hopefully something interactive with Pixar...

Wonders of Life is (and has been) closed because MetLife pulled out as the sponsor.

The wonders of life pavilion has closed because it was not drawing crowds and not an effective attraction at EPCOT any longer.
Met life has pulled out as a sponsor many years ago and was really not a factor.
Disney still lists the pavilion and mentions that it is open seasonally....however we were there during Thanksgiving and the pavilion never opened that week.
I was wondering if anyone had seen the pavilion open during the busy times during Christmas and the recent New Year??
I'm afraid that the days of Cranium command and body wars and the making of me are pretty much over.
I know that many of us Disney nuts loved the pavilion and the attractions....however we were clearly in the minority. I know the last time we went in, there were approx. 20 people with us in cranium command and we walked right on body wars without any delay of any kind.
Those are the numbers that mean the most to the decision makers at WDW.

We were there during the F&W festival and the park maps didn't even identify the building. The little maps that were in the F&W brochures didn't even SHOW the building (and there were special F&W events held in the building).

It was open during Christmas and closed right after new years. I had read on another board that they started dismantiling body wars to ship to HKDL to be used as a Star Wars ride.

I'm thinking I heard a little chatter about doing something with this area for EPCOT's 25th anniversary celebration--but not really sure. I'm looking forward to seeing what plans Disney will unveil for the big 2-5 :)

My info on the Met Life pull-out being the deciding factor in closing Wonders of Life came directly from a CM who has worked for Disney at Epcot (closed the WofL pavilion at the time) for 16 years. Wonders of Life drew far larger crowds than some of the other pavilions & the attractions were quite popular.

I am one of the Disney Purists that really enjoyed everything about Wonders of Life. Everything from Cranium Command, Body Wars, the souvy shops, and the places where you could get some ice cream. That was our place to cool off, relax and get out of the heat for a while. I miss it!! :sad1:

It was open Spring Break/Easter 2005. My kids LOVED it, except Body Wars, only my son and I went on and he loved it I got woozy. They especially liked all the interactive type things to see and Cranium Command. It's sad if they close it, but it was kind of "worn" looking, like it could use a refurb. I guess we should be happy we got to go at least once.
