Did I fall asleep? I just read on a Disney information newsletter that Wonders of Life is closed forever. When did this happen? Are there definite plans of changes that are lying ahead for the area?

Man I didn't realize it had been that long since I had been there. :confused3

It's been listed as seasonal for several years now, and has been closed every time I've looked. There were rumors it might open during some of the heavy crowd days of the peak summer season, but I don't think it did. It's still on the WDW web site as "open seasonally" so there haven't been any formal announcements of its permanent closure yet. I think it's just a matter of time, though.

There was a lot of discussion on several threads a few months ago about whether "Wonders of Life" and its attractions, "Cranium Command", "Making of Me" and "Body Wars" were gone forever or just "resting" until needed ("Closed Seasonally").

Back then, the official WDW website had the most CONFUSING listing that said:
* Cranium Command: Open Seasonally [April 1- April 31, 2006]
* The Making of Me: Open Seasonally [April 1- April 31, 2006]

That led many (most) readers to believe that it meant that these attractions would be OPEN from (in this case) [April 1- April 31, 2006].

The contrary was true.
It actually meant that these attractions would "remain CLOSED" (in this case) [April 1- April 31, 2006].

But it was confusing BIG-TIME (and caused a lot of discussion between the posters as to its meaning).

WELL...
The Disney folks have "fixed" this confusing listing.

I copied the following (month-by-month) from the WDW Calendar Epcot site:

* Body Wars: Operates Seasonally; Temporarily Closed [February 1, 2007 to February 28, 2007]
-----------------------------------------------------
Don't know why in Jan. & Feb. 2007 that only Body Wars is listed... hummmmm.

But still, it looks like these attractions will NEVER re-open considering that they are not open at all during the Summer... not even around or on July 4th, one of THE busiest times at WDW... or over the BUSY Christmas holidays either.

Sad to say that, as I really loved these attractions, but at least the listings are no longer ambiguous.
I just wonder WHY they bother to specifically list them AT ALL??

Specifically to Body Wars, the rumor is that it is no longer even "in the building" as the ride system was supposedly shipped to another non-US Disney park for use as a "Star Tours" attraction at that park.

As to any RUMORS about it re-opening (despite the closed listings).
I copied this post from about a month ago and post it below FWIW:

Plans are for the Wonders of Life to be open for 5 weeks this year - beginning Thanksgiving through the end of the year.

I have so many guests tell me how much they miss Wonders. Hope many of you will be down to enjoy it during the holidays.

Best wishes.

WOL is closed. They only use the space for banquets and such these days.

The "seasonally" label is simply for tax purposes, nothing more. If they open the pavilion for a certain amount of weeks then they get a tax break.

However, I doubt that it will return this Thanksgiving as is posted above...it may happen, but if it does it will be the last hurrah.

Yes, my tax guy always makes sure I open my extra pavilion a couple of times a year.

Saves me a MINT with Uncle Sam!

In our last query regarding Wonders of Life we were told it would definitely be open over the Chirstmas holidays this year. However, we remain unconvinced.

I think it's gone for good, but Disney will not confirm this. They say it will open in December, but I'm not holding my breath.
