Just looking for info on the Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand Floridian.
My oldest will be two weeks away from her 6th birthday and my youngest 5 weeks from her 4th when we go in May. Do you think Disney will let me book both of them? When I inquired about the Pirate Cruise the CM told me to tell them my youngest was 4. I am all for honesty, besides Disney will know my kids ages from our hotel reservation. I know Disney's stated policy is 4 and up for these events, but I wasn't sure if there was any leniency on Disney's part, especially when the birthday is so close and I'm not trying to avoid paying for something by stating a younger age.
NO FLAMES PLEASE - I'm not looking for a discussion about the moral or ethical implications of telling my daughter's age. I will be honest, just wondering if it's feasible that they'd allow me to book both. Thanks.

My dd9 did this tea party 5 years ago when she was 4. She loved it and I felt it was very appropriate activity for her. I would call the reservation line and let them know that she will be four a month after the trip. The age may be a guide line. Explain also that she would be with her sister. How could you possibly send one and not the other when they are so close in age? Good luck, I hope it works out !! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I will mention what you said and how her sister will be with her and see what they say. Glad to know it's something worth going to.

Also, just for your info, the age for this activity was only very recently (sometime this fall) raised to 4 to bring it in line with the other activities at the Grand Floridian. Before that, the minimum age for the Tea Party was only three, but the kids did have to be potty trained. I know this for certain because my little guy did it twice as a three year old and LOVED it both times. Then, we tried to book it again for Feb. and was told it was now age four and up. He's really sad, because he's done it before and LOVED it and wanted to do it again - and now he can't.

In most places it does say the age is 4, but if you call to book it and ask they will tell you 3.
I know that for a fact because my 3 year old is doing it in about 3 weeks, and Disney knows that he is only 3.

When did you book it for him? If you call now they tell you it is four and up. I've tried a million different times in the last few weeks. I've been told repeatedly that the age limit was raised just in the last few months. 3 year olds that booked before the change will still be allowed to attend, however, they are no longer taking new bookings for 3 year olds.

I called yesterday and asked the cm who was booking my hotel if she could tell me whether or not they were strict about the 4 yo rule. She put me on hold, got back to me and said "I can tell you they are strict about the 4 yo rule, and you can decide what you want to do with that". So I'm not sure if she was implying that she could still book it for me even though my daughter will be 4, only 5 weeks after our visit, or what. I just told her I'd wait for now. I realize they have to have a starting age for these things, but in my situation I wish they would let her in because she's been totally potty trained since 18 months old and her nearly 6 yo sister would be there with her. But, oh well. The previous cast member I spoke with a few months ago told me to tell them that she's 4.

I would just say she is 4 and book it ;) we did the BBB last summer and DD was 1 week from turning 3... they wouldn't budge when I inquired about it.. so when I made the reservation I rounded up her age ;) I already knew she would love it, and be very coorporative sice she has done Libby Lu here. And she was, they never questioned it.

What is this party? Is it any fun? Is it hard to get reservations? Is it expensive?

Our girls did the party in Dec- they loved it! Emma is 6 and Alli is 4-

You sign the kids in, they all go into the dining room at once and get a seat at the table, a long table like in the movie, you can snap a couple of pictures and you are shooed out- I think they have sandwiches, apple juice instead of real tea, decorate and eat cupcakes, and play games, when it was time to pick up the kids all pretended they were asleep at the table, and yelled surprise once the parents were all in the room, and they had flowers they had picked outside for us- they each got picture with Alice and the Mad Hatter too.

I am not sure how tough it is to get into I called 90 days out, and I think it was around 30 per kid and yes there was a boy there too.

We will definately try to do it again!
