What is better for my 3 year old (She is turning 3 in Dec. and we will be at Disney in May)

For a child that young I would do the wonderland tea and then when she older do the other.

1) The above is "probably" good advice.
2) But, when my girls were that young, they were grown-up.
3) OK, so they THOUGHT they were grown-up.
4) They actually liked the Afternoon Tea.
. . . we got them into dresses (Yes, REAL dresses!)
. . . valet parked and walked through the lobby and to podium
. . . let them tell the hostess we had a ressie
. . . allowed the waitress to push in their chairs
. . . one had the Mrs Potts, the other had regular tea
. . . AND, the behaved throughout the afternoon

NOTE: We have done afternoon tea at Disney and other places
around Orlando (eg. Peabody, Ritz), and they always bring up
their first "tea" at GF. By the way, we now have granddaughters
we take to afternoon tea.

Personally, I think that it would depend on your daughter's level of separation anxiety, if any. I want to clarify, this is the character interactive choices that you are asking about and not the lovely tea room that anyone may attend? (ressies recommended of course)

My daughter did the Mad Hatter tea party 3 or 4 years ago. She loved it but parents were not invited to stay. We were told that we could leave or hang around the GF but the tea was only for yougsters. I believe they had juice or milk and a cupcake. Note: there were a few children overwhelmed with the Mad Hatter.

The Princess tea includes traditional tea delicacies for both the adult and child with children and adult selections were available. My memory may fail me with this one but I thought that I read the girls would receive an Aurora doll as well as visiting with the Princess.

Of the two, we selected the Mad Hatter because I didn't want to invest so much $ on an experience that she may or may not appreciate, meaning the Princess tea. She enjoyed her experience but never asked to have tea with the Princesses. Instead, we have had a grown up tea in the tea room for tha past 3 years when we visit.

When I looked into cost (several years ago mind you) the Mad Hatter was approx $30 and the Princess tea was $200+. I'm certain that you can find the updated information in the dining section. No matter which of the 3 tea options available, you can't go wrong :cutie:

I don't know why the ages are different, but this is taken from Disney's website:

Wonderland Tea Party — Disney Friends from Wonderland return in the afternoon to entertain kids ages 4 to 12 with an hour of stories, games, cupcakes and a special "tea" (apple juice). Pint-sized partygoers get to decorate their own cupcakes, create take-home crafts and pose for pictures with their friendly Disney Character hosts.

Hosted at The Garden View Tea Room at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, charming Victorian surroundings make for magical ambiance. And adding to the fun, girls ages 3 to 11 are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Disney Princess.

This is what is suggest~ my DD did the Wonderland Tea Party but has not done the Perfectly Princess Tea. I personally think your DD is too young for the Wonderland Tea Party. I have no experience with the other event, so I can't say with that. If you stay with your princesses for the tea, I would recommend that. Sounds special!

Personally i'd recommend leaving the perfectly princess tea party until she was a little older 5 or so.

Have you seen my review with lots of pics? - link in my signature

DD wants to do wonderland tea party but have left it until next trip when she will be almost 7. Wasn't sure how she would handle it on her own - depends on child I think and maybe whether they have a sibling to go with.

Yeah I agree with the expense of the Princess tea, wait until she is a little older to really enjoy it. My daughter did the Wonderland tea when she was three (not sure if they changes the age limits or we just said she was 4 to get her in) My daughter loved the Wonderland tea and continues to do it for the next couple years until she was 7. then we did the princess tea party. she did enjoy both of them, however the following year, she decided to go back and do the Wonderland Tea party!!! (which I was OK with saving $170)
Now she has since moved on to the "Pirate Cruise Tours" (which are NOT just for boys!!)

I will agree with the second poster: You have to consider the: separation anxiety. In the Wonderland tea [arty you Leave your children. (now I must also say, Disney is Disney here and does a great job of pulling the "band-aid" quick and removing the parents so the children do not have time to think about it!!!!
