Wondering for anyone who has done this, do boys do it too or is it pretty much just girls? My daughter is signed up for this when we go in December, and I'm wondering if her 3-year-old brother would like it as well (I think she'd have more fun if he was with her). I thought you had to be 4 for this, but just read the age limit is 3. He is fully potty trained and doesn't have problems separating, and again if his big sister was there (she's 6) I know they'd have fun together. But, if he were the only boy there he would probably not like that!!

Thanks for your help!

My 3 year old boy did it in September and it was the absolute highlight of his trip! (Hes' VERY into tea parties and Alice and the Mad Hatter right now, so it was perfect for him!) There were three or four other boys there, but the vast majority were girls. I imagine that there are days when there are no boys, or only one - just depending on the particular day. My little guy really doesn't care about that sort of thing yet, so it was no big deal. He would have been perfectly happy being the only boy. Right now, to him, kids are kids and he loves them all! It was a huge thing for him and he still talks about it all the time!

Anyway, at the time I booked (last spring), the age limit was 3 (if fully potty trained). However, I think they recetnly changed the limit to 4 to bring it in line with the other kid's activities. You'd have to call the dining line and check to be sure.

Wow - that would be a bummer if they changed it to 4! He is over 3 1/2 and would have no problem at all, my only concern was the boy-girl thing. I think I'll call and check on the age limit - if he can get in then maybe I'll sign him up (he does love having tea parties with his sister).

My DS6 did this last summer and loved it. We talked it up about being the Mad Hatter's party rather than the focus being on Alice - so it did not seem so "girly". He loved it and wants to do it again with his sister!

My two sons and daughter did the Tea Party in October and loved it. My 3 year old had fun, although we did get paged because he choked on a chicken nugget! It really wasn't too girly, at all. They had a lot to say about how funny the Mad Hatter was. I'd definitely sign your little one up, especially if his holder sister is going!

DD5 did the tea party in October and there were two little boys there, about 4 and 5, who were brothers. Their mom thought it was a pirate party (??) but the boys ended up having a good time anyway. They were the only two boys there, with about eight girls, I think. My DD was the only there who was dressed up (Alice dress) and the rest of the kids just had on nice sun dresses and play clothes, so I don't think your son would think he was at a princess party or anything. It seemed very gender friendly!

I've signed DD8 & DS6 up for December. I'm glad to hear other boys enjoyed it. DD & DS were Alice & the Mad Hatter in a local parade last year and ended up on the front of the newspaper, so DS LOVES the Mad Hatter! :thumbsup2

I am going in November and am sending DS4. My DH is giving me a hard time since he thinks it's for girls. I disagree with him. After all, in the movie, it's really the Mad Hatter's tea party--Alice just crashes it, right? I made him a shirt with clipart of the tea party and put, "Who said tea parties were just for girls" on the front. I thought it was a cute idea. Anyway, I will post when I get back if I thought it was too "girly". Besides, what kid will pass up cupcakes, apple juice and chicken nuggest?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I checked the Disney web site and they now list this party as for 4-year-olds and up (the Passporter said 3), so I guess I'm out of luck, even though you all convinced me that it would be fine for a boy (especially one so young who hasn't fully hit the "girls are icky" stage, and he adores his older sister).

For those of you who have signed up your sons, I'm sure they'll have a great time! It's certainly not in the same strain as the "My Perfectly Princess" tea party!

The website and Passporter do have it listed as age 4 and up, but if you call, they'll tell you it is for 3+. I had read on this board about some kids going to the party at age 3, so I called and asked, and sure enough it was now 3.

That's not the story we got. When we reserved it last spring, they said the age was 3. However, by the time our trip came around, we were told it had been raised to 4, however, they still let my little guy attend since the age requirement was 3 when we made the reservation.

In fact, I just called to double check and they confirmed it is now for age 4 and up. The change happened sometime late summer or early fall.

My DH gave me a hard time the first time I sent ds (he was 4 then) with his sisters. I knew he loved the Mad Hatter so that's why I sent him. He loved it so much he's done it each year (he's 6 now). The funny thing is no one thought it was "wierd" when the girls went on the Pirate Cruise with ds. Now DH sees how much fun ds has with the Mad Hatter so he's fine with it NOW.

Wow! I think it was after reading your post about this that I called to check, and was so happy my little guy could attend. We were just there in mid-October, and they didn't question him attending, at all. That's good to know though, since I have friends who were looking into it.

I called, and they have changed it to 4. Unfair 0:(. I have a three year old boy as well that would of loved it.
