Hi All,

This is my very first post here :) I booked through Liberty Travel, but I'm wondering if there are any other credible places that have good prices. We are looking to go Nov 1-7 of this year, and our trip is costing us approx $3152 for that time, park tix, one table service meal a day, etc, and hotel. Is this a good deal?

Thanks for any and all help!!

Jen

A TA should never charge more than a quote directly from Disney. Best advice is to go to disneyworld.com and get a quote for what you want. Make sure the room type and tickets are exactly the same. I have never heard of the TA you mentioned, but I wouldn't even consider a TA that isn't a Disney specialist.

We have no way of knowing if it's a "good deal" unless we know the hotel, type of room, type of park tickets and number of days. The one table service I assume you mean the regular meal plan with one table service, one quick service and one snack a day?

Hi Again,

We are staying at Pop Century, just a regular room. Yes, the dining plan is the one table service, one quick serve and one snack. From what I see from Disney's website it is much more expensive to book directly with Disney (Disney wants $4500) for the same thing. Liberty Travel is a national company.

I just did 2 adults 2 kids with that dining plan on those dates from Disney.com for $3200...were you adding park hoppers?

Why not called Dreams Unlimited you know the good folks who run and operate the Dis boards. Pete and his staff can help you and who knows Disney better than those who live, breath the Disney dream!

My SIL booked through Liberty last year and was happy with her service and price. Then the room discounts came out, and it was very hard to tell if she was getting the best deal because airfare/car rental/resort/tickets, etc were all lumped together. Liberty maintained that the original Liberty Travel price was as good as my price with 30% off my room, but there was never any way of knowing.

If you priced it out separately and it came to $4500 on Disney's website, and the price Liberty gave you was $3152 then math says that Liberty's price iscurrently less. However, if room discounts come out, or free dining or some other Disney promo, you may be locked into the original package and not able to make changes. Which means you'll never know if the $3152 is the best deal you could have ever booked. Some people may be fine with that, some people may not be fine with that, it's your personal preference.

Is it worth it to stay off property? I mean can you save big money, as well as have bus service, etc? I'm looking at some of the hotels and find that they are nice and the way I look at it, it is just a place to sleep.

Thanks for all of the replies!!

Off site means no free Magical Express ride to & from the air port (we don't rent a car, so that's a must), no dining plan (we get it every time, saves us a lot of money -- but not everyone loves it) and no extra magic hours.

Those are things we don't want to lose, so we always stay onsite.

Also, who knows what will happen with Fast Pass+ but I'd imagine (hope) those staying at a Disney Resort will have more options when booking than those off site.

We are just doing the basics. Did you book that through Disney?

TIA!!

Yep.. The price you quoted from Disney seemed very high for a value resort.
So I punched in the info as if I were going on vacation and that is what I got from Disney.com

I wonder why we're getting a higher price? Maybe I'll call tonight and ask.
I'm even asking the Disney Rental Points people to see if we can get a better deal.

There could be a number of reasons why you are getting a higher price at Liberty than what the PP got on the Disney website.

Liberty could have you booked at a Preferred room location instead of a Standard location.

Liberty might have you down for 7-day tickets, they may have added park hopping and waterpark fun and more options, as well.

The PP priced the trip out for 2 adults and 2 kids. If one or both of your kids is age 10 or older, then you will pay the adult price for tickets and the dining plan for those kids.

Renting points from a DVC member for October will be tough. Between MNSSHP and the F&W Festival and the low number of points required at that time of year, the DVC resorts fill up fast. People book their home resort at 11 months prior to arrival for those dates and can book a non-home resort at 7 months before. A studio unit costs about the same as staying in a moderate resort. So if you're looking to save money, renting points may not be the way for you to go.
