I was wondering for our upcoming cruise if Disney would allow our 17-year-old son to go to Palo. He’ll be turning 18 the following month after the cruise, so we were hoping that he may be able to join us. Does anyone know if Disney is very strict with that or would they consider it? We know They do allow flexibility with the kids clubs when the kids are close to that age of the next group, so we thought there were some precedence in them, potentially allowing him to go to Palo.

Disney Cruise does allow some flexibility with kids who are almost 11 for Edge or almost 14 for Vibe. However, 18 is a firm line — no one 18 or older can go to Vibe during secure programming, and no one under 18 can go to the adult dining rooms.

The only exceptions that we made to the 18 only rule were for a couple of Disney channel stars many years ago that got to eat in the private room when they performed on board the Disney Magic during one of the Panama canal cruises. People were kind of pissed off about that.

Yes Disney really watches the ages
I was the only one in the adult hot tub
When a dad and his 16 year son
A CM asked his age band then they were asked to leave which they did
It definitely wouldn’t work for Palo, 18 is 18. But so many people on social media post that they “got away” with their teen being in an adult space, so then of course people are going to try it. Majority of the time, crew are able to step in like above, but they can’t be everywhere and notice everything all the time, which then allows the cycle of trying to bend the rules to continue
