Wondering About Guy in Oz Who Wanted Early Screening

This may seem like an odd question, but a few months ago I read news reports about a terminally ill Marvel fan in Australia ("Alexander") who was hoping for an early screening of "Avengers Endgame." His condition was such that making it to the official April premiere was unlikely. I do remember that Chris Hemsworth found out about this and was trying to push Disney into helping out his fellow Aussie.

So -- did this all come together? Did Alexander get to see the movie? Is he still with us? I tried to find out but all I see are links to the original articles with no follow-up as to what actually happened.
