We spent 7 nights at POR before heading to the Poly for 4 nights. Alligator Bayou, building 15, close to food court and bus stop. We loved it! Very clean, good food court, nice gift shop, great service, liked the pools. We got towel animals every day from Rosa, our mousekeeper. She was so nice and did a wonderful job! I will post a link to pics when I get a minute. We loved the resort and our location.

(We visited CBR, I was not that impressed, but might like it if I stayed there. We also visited CSR and I loved the decor and the layout of the resort, but can't imagine staying there unless I was there on business. Pepper Market was OK, but not something I'd want to do more than once. I loved it the resort, but I just can't picture staying there with my dd until she was a little older - it's just too spread out and lots of business people there. If I were going with just me, I would stay there in a minute.)

By far, POR is my favorite moderate. I would like to stay at POFQ though sometime, it was really pretty too!

Since you were just at POR maybe you can answer 2 ? for me--1st do you know which buildings are smoking? 2nd can you fit a full size air mattress in the room (14 yr old son)

tjmouse - what were the dates you were there? We just returned from POR yesterday and the resort was great, but the cheerleaders drove us nuts. Cheering at 7:30 in the morning and we couldn't even get near the quiet pool near our building.

I also just returned from POR and can comment on a few of these questions...

1. Not sure about non smoking buildings but if it's that important to you, do NOT get an adjoining room. We were in Magnolia Bend, room 8543 and while our room was nonsmoking, the adjoining room was NOT. Ugh

2. I would think a full sized air mattress is going to be REALLY tight in the room unless you have a king bed.

We just returned as well but stayed in the Magnolia Bend section. We thought the resort itself was beautiful but will never stay there again. It was incredibly noisy! One night we couldn't fall asleep for an hour because the person above us kept flushing their toilet. We could hear everytime the people next to us and above us flushed. Also, we heard every family walk past our room at night on their way back to the hotel. One night we hit the bed early and heard Illuminations! My dh also complained because his feet hung off the bottom of the bed. I will say the customer service was good though. I asked for bed rails for my dd and they brought them in 20 minutes.

Do all the rooms hve a trundle bed? or are these rooms extra?

The rooms in POR alligator Bayou have the trundles (rooms sleeps 5) & there is no extra charge.

Building 18 is partial smoking.

We recently stayed at POR and were in AB building 15. We loved it too  We were able to use a twin sized air mattress with no problem.

Do all the moderates have an area with trundle? Can you swim in the both themed pools at POFQ &POR?

My family is staying at POR in January. Overall, I've heard wonderful things about this moderate resort. Your positive comments just get me all the more excited about going to WDW in 5 weeks from today.

POR is the only moderate with trundle beds. They others only allow 4 to a rm. POR and POFQ share pools so you can use both. You can take the boat or bus from one to the other if you don't want to walk.

I am so glad to hear good things about POR....DH and I are staying there on our anniversary trip in May!!

We had no noise on our side of the building. No problems at all. I heard Illuminations too and I couldn't figure out what in the heck it was until I looked at the time and went outside! We could see some of the fireworks from the parking lot.

I don't think you can fit a big air mattress in there, but maybe a twin. The trundle was Katie's "secret bed" and she loved it. Alligator Bayou has the trundles.

I got a nonsmoking room, but I smoke, so I went outside onto the balcony/walkway. Luckily, we were on a corner so I didn't bother anyone and I was on the second floor. Plus, we weren't in the room that much so it wasn't like I was out there smoking all the time. I brought my portable ashtray and used it out on the balcony (walk way). I think I only had one person pass me while I was smoking and I put it out immediately so as not to blow smoke on them. I try to be a very courteous smoker. There was also a large ashtray around the corner from me. I was surprised at how many people were smoking there actually. Lot's of international guests.

We were there from 11/29 to 12/6. Cheerleaders didn't bother us too much, but we moved to the Poly on 12/6 so that would have been right after they arrived.

We are staying there for the first time december 19-27th. We have always stayed at either ASMU or POP. Hopefully the cheerleaders will be gone by then! I always thought they stayed at the allstar resorts.

Most of the groups do stay at AS resorts, but the overflow was POR this year and I think in years past. They are gone, so you shouldn't have to deal with them!
