I was reading other threads discussing the fall of humanity (not so dramatic, I know) and wanted to relay the wonderful acts of humanity that I have witnessed this week. My very DH is is the process this week of donating stem cells to an unknown 30 year old man with leukemia. We are currently in Washington DC where we have met 5 other people who are doing the same thing. These guys (just so happens that they are all guys) have given up a week to fly to DC and go through this process. For 5 days they receive injections that can cause some pretty painful side effects so that they can then donate stem cells to help someone else. So, while I know we all see things that make us wonder, I want everyone to know that there is still plenty of good out there.

That's so kind and generous of your husband. I'm always a little sad when I see these "decline of humanity/decency" threads. The world is obviously not ALL good or ALL bad...but I chose to focus on the kindness, decency and compassion that I see in the world.

It is wonderful of your husband and these other gentlemen to do this. :thumbsup2

What a wonderful gift your DH and those other men are providing.. It's great to hear things like this..:santa:

That is wonderful, I like to hear good stories too. That is why I rarely watch the news it is all bad. nothing good.
we need to remember there is a lot of good out there:)

Great post! It's so nice to read a positive story. You should be very proud of your DH. Happy Holidays!!

A big thanks to your DH. My husband did this a few years ago for his brother and I know it can be pretty painful at times. To do it for someone you don't know is wonderful.
