We got up around 5:00 am (ugh), quicky got ready, packed up and checked out of our hotels and headed over to Old Key West. We got there around 6:30 to check in as we wanted to catch a bus to MK for early entry that morning. Our rooms weren't ready, but we were not expecting them to be. Got all our room keys and then hopped on a bus to MK. There was quite a line already at the gates by the time we got there. I was nervous about crowds as I had heard reports that the parks seemed a bit more crowded this year. Once we got in though, the crowds dispersed and we were able to do many rides with no lines at all. I really love EE. Especially in MK. We had a PS for Cinderella's Castle at 9:55. We had done most of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland before that time. The crowds were really starting to pick up by the time we were ready for our PS. We were not planning on spending the rest of the day in MK as it was a Saturday and the crowds are always extremely heavy.
This was my first time eating at Cindy's. The Fairy Godmother and Belle were in the lobby. Belle was great with the kids. Even though it was very crowded, she managed to show a great deal of attention to all the children she came in contact with. My daughter was so excited.
The called our name after about a 25 minute wait and we went to our table. The restaurant is lovely and the food was good. The characters that were there that day were, Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, Aladin and Aurora, The character interaction was great. They were all really wonderful. My 7 year old son was not that enthusiastic about the characters and even hid under the table at one point when Aurora tried talking with him. LOL He was excited to meet Aladin though. My daughter loved all the princesses. After breakfast we were waiting in the lobby for my husband. Belle was still in the lobby, but there was no one else there at that time. I think this may have been the period of time between the last breakfast seatings and the lunch seatings, so there were no people waiting to be seated. Belle started playing hide and seek with my two children while we were waiting for my husband. My daughter was thrilled. It was so cute. Even my son was having fun.
When we left the restaurant we were met with massive crowds and decided to leave at that point. My original plan was to head over to Epcot, but that didn't happen. It was getting pretty hot out and we weren't dressed properly as it was pretty cool when we headed out that morning. We decided to go back to the resort to see if by some chance our rooms might be ready, but if not, we would get a change of clothes from the car and then move on from there. Our rooms were not ready when we got there. We got changed, then decided we would take the boat from the Marina over to Downtown Disney instead of heading over to Epcot for the rest of the day.
The boat ride was really lovely. So picturesque and peaceful. Definitly take advantage of that perk if you stay there. We all really loved it. We walked around DD for a while. My sister and I took in some of the shops while my husband and children headed over to the fountains. There were so many children playing in them as it was quite warm that day and my children ended up getting soaked, but they had such a great time. We took the boat back to the resort and by the time we got back our rooms were ready. I was so excited to see the rooms. We took my sister to her room first. She had a smoking room, second floor in building 19, room 1920. The room was lovely. We were all very impressed with it. It was quite roomy and we liked the kitchenette and the nice roomy bathroom. We were used to staying at moderates in the past, so having a balcony was also a nice plus for me. I spent quite a bit of time out on ours. I loved walking to Good's at the main area in the morning and getting some pastry, then coming back and enjoying a nice quite breakfast out on the balcony. What a way to start a day.
My sister's room was right by a bus stop, which she was excited about initially, but she wasen't as excited about it as the week went on as she found it to be very noisy. She was often woken up very early as soon as the busses began running in the morning. Other than that, she liked her room very much.
Our room was a non smoking room, second floor in building 16, room 1620. It was a pretty good location. We didn't have a great view, but we were fairly close to the main building, which I liked. We could see a glimpse of the golf course and a tiny bit of the canal running behind that. One downside of this building was that there was no parking directly in front of the units as is the case with most of the other buildings. This was really only a problem in unloading our luggage and loading it back up when we were leaving. Other than that, it was only a minor inconvenience.
After unloading our luggage and getting settled in, we decided to get ready to go to Epcot for the evening. My sister ended up coming down with a pretty bad cold though. She was feeling pretty terrible and decided to stay in and rest for the evening.
My husband, the kids and myself headed over to Epcot. We went on Spaceship Earth first. We all enjoy that ride. After that, We wanted to take in alot of Innoventions as we had never really had much time to do that on our past trips. We enjoyed it. My kids especially loved playing Toon Tag in the Playhouse Disney section there. That was really cute. There are so many interesting things to seeat Innoventions. You have to take a lot of time though. If you just walk through quickly, as we had always done in the past, you can really miss alot. We were glad we took the time to really see alot of what they had there.
We then walked over to The Land. We did the ride there which my children really liked and then we ate in the food court area there. It was pretty good. We didn't have dessert though as we wanted to go over to the Fountanview for dessert and watch the fountain for a while. I really love that Fountain. It amazes me how well they choreograph it to the music. We sat outside and had some yummy desserts and took in the sights of the fountain for a while. Then we headed over to Ice Station Cool. We had never gone in there on previous trips. I had heard about the Beverly from these boards. Oh my goodness, it's as bad as people have said. YUCK! My favorite was the soda from Germany, my husband and kids really liked the apple flavored soda from Mexico. After that we went to get a spot for Illuminations. This is by far my husbands favorite thing at Disney. He was so impressed with it last year. He couldn't wait to see it again this year. Our spot for the fireworks wasen't the best. It was pretty cramped and our view was slightly obstructed, but we still enjoyed it.
After that we went back to our resort for a good night sleep. I have to comment that Disney has such comfortable beds. I don't know if anyone else thinks so, but I think they're amazing. I want to bring one home with me. I sleep so good when I'm there. I suppose alot of that might have to do with the fact that I go to bed exhausted every night from being out at the parks, but those beds definitly help.

It sounds like you had a wonderful breakfast in the castle. My son wasn't too thrilled with all of the princesses either. Aurora finally broke the ice with him. :D

The Old Key West resort sounds very nice. I haven't seen too many trip reports about it. We enjoyed the boat ride from Port Orleans to DD. It is very relaxing.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Pixieduster. :)
