July 30th Friday Wakeup at 4AM, leaving home, parking the car at a low cost airport parking, shuttle to the airport, check-in, security, breakfast at a Frequent Flyer lounge (we have free airplane tickets from Milan to Miami) where I picked up some (free) Italy-Italy (magazine describing Italian history, geography, traditions
) to gift to some DIS friends . Its 10 AM, boarding time and time to change the time on our watches
oh no! its 4 AM again!
Ten hours of flight, two hours more spent in an immigration line well finally its time for check-in at Miami International Airport Hotel, a very comfortable hotel just outside the Airport gate inside the Airport really
A quick dinner at Sbarro not because its Italian food but because its the nearest eatery and its time to sleep it was a long day!
But at 11PM we got an announcement the hotel had to be evacuated for security reasons time to evacuate, a few minutes of suspense than we got the green light to go back probably just somebody smoking in a non-smoking room, they said
Starting from midnight there was a conflict between the biological clock of our body (saying its wakeup time!) and the rest of the body, too tired to listen and wake up. At 6 AM an agreement was found and everybody wake up.
Saturday was driving day. We went to AVIS to rent a car. AVIS is quite expensive, but has cars in very good shape and for a long trip we prefer to have safe cars. Near Orlando we made the usual grocery stop and decided to pay a visit to Festival Bay Mall, at the end of International Drive. DH loves surf (at least to see surfers) and purchased a t-shirts at Ron Jon surf shop (is there any sea near Orlando?), while I went to Hilo Hatties, the store of Hawaii (is Orlando near Hawaian islands ????) to purchase a muu-muu (long Hawaiian dress) its just the start of the vacation (to be continued)
