Wonder Night-life???

My husband and I are going on our first cruise ever and we were wondering how the Wonder night-life is. We NEVER go out. And I mean NEVER. We've only been to the Cleveland Improv once and that was it! (We had a blast that night too!) Well we decided that we have a chance to actually go out and be adults on this cruise and we are going to take total advantage of it. I know that we want to go to the comedy club for sure. Is that open every night? Is it the same routine each night? What other suggestions do you guys have? Honestly, I really didn't think about taking advantage of the night-life until today (six days to go until we leave, of course), so I'm not sure all of the options. I think I heard something about an 80's night? What is that all about? Is that on the Wonder? Thanks so much for your help!

Sorry, but there is no longer any comedy club on the Wonder. The improv has been gone for a long, long time.
However, you will probably enjoy the theme nights in Wavebands. My favorite is the 1970s night. You will love the guest appearances by Gloria Gaynor, John Travolta, and the Village People.
There are various other events in the other clubs. You will have a great time!

The night life on DCL is not what I would say is super party central, but it will be enjoyable for those who aren't used to, or into the club scene... but are wanting a taste of night life..

Each night you will have a themed night..
Usually adult evening activities are kicked off by some sort of a show, cabaret type show, gameshow/comedy type show (like a spin on the newlyweds game), karaoke, etc

Then they have a thmed dance party, with the cruise staff in costume and sometimes a performance by the mainstage dancers...
On the for day you will have a 80s night, a 70's night, and a 60's night..
The themed dancing goes on for about an hour or hour and half...during that time, the cruise staff is keeping everything going with the music and a lot of people are dancing, or just sitting back and watching and enjoying the music

Then stuff usually dies down, and they play regular dance type music until 12:30-1amish.

So its not wild club activity, but I always have fun.. and usually you are beat by the end, and want to hit the sack when things are over around 12:30 or 1am.

If you aren't into the dancing at all, they have a piano lounge with music and drinks.. thats more laid back, just sitting and listening to he musicians..

Then there is the sports bar, that will host a pub night, or will be showing the latest and most important games on big screen tv. Bartenders and wait staff keep you occupied, and if there is a big game, then things are pretty happening. And British Pub night is a blast!

Also, you have the option of seeing a late movie, or just lounge around in the adult pool/ hot tubs since both those stay open until late.

You will have lots of choices... from the dancing, to the relaxing drinks, to sports mania, and quiet, romantic pool time. But most things die down on DCL by 12:30 - 1am

We really enjoyed going out at night on the Wonder. I had a hard time passing up free babysitting!

We certainly enjoyed the comedian who was on our cruise - Gary Delena. He does a "family" show in the theater, but he also did an adult comedy show in Wavebands one night.

'80's night was by far my favorite (I still listen to an '80's radio station). The CM's certainly kept things going. Dancing, trivia, and a few surprises! I'm not the nightclub type, but this was certainly a fun evening for us.

Take advantage of whatever you can while onboard - especially if you don't normally get to do it at home!

Also...don't miss the "Match Your Mate" game show...is is quite funny and is based on the old Newlywed game except onboard they pick couples who are newly married, married about 15-20 years and then a couple who have been married 35 or 40 plus years.....they ask some very funny questions and it is a hoot to watch!!
