In drydock, they perform maintenance that can't be done while the ship is in service as well as a detailed inspection of the systems and structure below the waterline.

Replace some carpeting, clean lounge chairs, varish, paint, change mattresses, etc.

General maintenance and upkeep plus a good, deep cleaning. One CM told us during one of the drydocks that they needed to pull all the arcade games out and clean behind them...stuff like that.

Also, looking at the drydock pictures, they also overhaul critical systems as well. That round ball they are moving with the crane in the one picture in the other thread is not decorative; it's one of the ships radar domes.

All this sounds "Wonder"ful...a nice clean ship for our very first cruise. Can't wait. :thewave:
