Castaway Cay
We pull up to Castaway Cay and what can I say but breathtaking. DH goes to the buffet and grabs a tray of food and brings it down to the room. We eat the food and enjoy the view from our porthole. We than slather on the Sea Safe under our suits to keep the jellies away. We are one of the first 20 people off the boat and start walking. First we stop and get a few photos done by the ship photographer. Next it is on to the Post Office to mail the post cards. We then head off to the far end of the family beach. The views are just awesome everywhere you go!!!! We find a peach umbrella with some chairs and a hammock. It is the perfect location. I go to grab the floats. Just a reminder to send more than one person to carry four blue mat floats. I could barely walk holding these things back to the hammock. It was kind of comical. We slather on the spf 50 lotion and Dh, the kids and I head out to the crystal clear water. We swim around and see a few fish that are long with shark looking eyes and long bodies but I have no idea what kind of fish they are. DD decides she wants some goggles to look for sea creatures. I take DD to the island store and get a few pairs. The kids put them on and they see all kinds of stuff. My DD thinks she sees a turtle but it is a creature in a shell moving along the bottom. She shows DH. We all stare at this thing and DH is now thinking about going down to get it. I tourist lady comes along and starts hinting to DH that he should go doen to get the creature. DH starts diving for the bugger. He goes down about five times and comes up with the catch. It is a big shell with a creature in it. It is Mr. Crabs. He starts flinging his claws out but DH hangs on. We show toursit lady and a few other people around and then send Mr. Crabs on his way. The kids then swim out to the rope and jump area and have fun jumping into the water. We then go to shore and slather up again with the sun lotion. The sun is brutal. People are turning all shades off red to purple. Ouch!!!!!!! We then head to lunch on the island. WE load up on Chicken burgers, lobster burgers, salads, chips, fruits and cookies. We find a shaded spot and sit down. watch out for the gulls. They will try and fly off with your food because they think its "MINE, MINE, MINE, MINE AND MINE". We then go to check out the family dig but it is already in process. I then tell Dfamily about Grouper. We hed on over and find a beautiful breezeway game room filled with Giant Checkers and Chess, a large connect four game, basketball, pool tables, shuffleboard, foosball and so forth. If you get thirsty, there is a water closet with a cooler and disposable cups. This place kept us cool and we had alot of fun. It was not very crowded because not too many people know about it. We then head back out to the beach for more swimming. Time gets away from us and before you know it , it is time to board the ship. We were one of the last families to get back on. We did not want to leave. We ate dinner and watched the evening show. It was totally awesome. Our skin is now a lovely shade of red. We even slathered on the lotion twice and it still was not enough. Be sure to use high spf and keep reapplying all day on the island. We strolled around the deck and headed to bed.
