Day 2 – Nassau
Cast- Sue(mum 42)
DD (Vicki 14)

Woke up feeling grotty, lightheaded, and a little sick. I then put this down to the travel tablets as they work 24 hours so made the decsion not to take any more and try the ginger capsuals instead, what a blessing they turned out to be, did not feel sick at all and no more droziness, now I was going to start enjoying my cruise. We were just pulling into Nassau, woke up my DD and went for breakfast at Beach Blanket-Scrabbled eggs, bacon, sasauge, tomaotoes oh well back on the diet of museli when I return home.

Departed the ship at about 9.30 for a quick walk around Nassau Port, went to the straw market and a few shops and purchased some Shoes for myself and DD and a few souvienrs to take home. Plenty of people around and was asked if we wanted our hair braded about 20 times. My daughter would have liked to have had it done but her school wont allow her to wear them, so it would have been a waste of money. The sky was beautiful and sunny when we got off but we could see the dark clouds ahead looming so we made our way back to the ship.On the way back had a quick chat with the Captain of "The Marinier of The Seas "which was docked next to us and he was standing looking at our Wonderful Disney ship. He asked me if we were enjoying the cruise and congrtulated us on being onboard a great ship. His ship was huge and he was telling us all about the Ice Rink and Rock Climbing wall they had on board.

We had a quick swim in the goofy pool a spot of lunch and then my daughter wanted to try out the teen club. Off she went, so I took the opportunity to try a spot of room service and had a nice pot of coffee and the all hands on deck cheese platter whilst sitting on the balcony.

Popped to Pat's room to see how they were getting on and ended up spending a couple of hours there talking to Pat as her husband and Daughter had gone into Nassau. Pat is a wonderful lady I met through the Dis boards here and it was great to have a long chat to her about everyhing.

My daughter came back from the teen club after about 3 hours and said she had a great time with the other teens there. They had been given some sort of assigment to make animation pictures and create a movie of the ship with a camcorder they were loaned.

By now the heavens had opened and it was pouring down, but it was great fun watching from our balcony. The crew had a lifeboat drill of there own and they took some of the lifeboats off and were testing them. There was to be a tropical party on top deck if the weather improved.

Went to the theatre and watched a juggler and comedian which was pretty good.

Dinner that evening was in Animators Palete and I have to say this turned out to be our favorite, the food was excellent, we both had soup and salad to start and chicken for main course. For dessert I had New York Style Cheesecake which was wonderful and my DD had the Mickey Ice Cream bar. Tonight we were joined by two new families, a dad with his teenage son from New Jersey(larry and Brandon) and another couple from the large cooperate company on board,(Bob and his dear wife who's name escapes me.) they were all great fun and my DD made friends with Brandon.

After dinner my daughter went back to the teen club and was looking forward to it. I thought I might be a bit lonley on my own, but not at all, there was so much to do. I went to shutters to select some of our photographs which were wonderful, then into studio sea where they were having karaoke(sp). I did not sing myself as I did not want to run the risk of people throwing themselves overboard.Went to the shopping arcade and treated myself to a gold anklet and a new hat.Had a look at the silent auction but did not bid on anything.

Got back to my room at about 10.50pm just in time to see us pulling out of Nassau.Tonight our towel animal was a monkey.Sat on the balcony wrote a bit more of out trip report and read through the navigator for tomorrow.

My daughter returned at about 12.45 and had really enjoyed herself and had made new friends which she was going to meet up with tomorrow.I think she said they had some Playstation competition

Ordered coffee and cookies from room service and set the mickey wake up call for 7am tomorrow to be up bright and early for Castaway Cay.

Part 3 tomorrow- Castaway Cay, Swimming on a desserted Ship and the Golden Mickeys.

I am really pleased that there is loads of stuff for your DD to do :) I thought that there might not be.

Great report Sue :) It sounds like you had a fantastic time :)
