Just back from the 3 day Wonder. The weather was pretty rough on the last day and the poor captain tried 3 times (8:00, 9:00 and came back at 12:00) to get us to the dock at Castaway Cay. The crew was amazing. Within 45 minutes that had a new Navigator (still warm) in our hands with activities for the entire day. I was disappointed along with everyone else but I was couldn't believe how quickly the crew organized everything. We ended up trying things we probably wouldn't have done otherwise (Margaritta & Martini tasting, Singles Lunch) and had a great time. It got pretty scary in the evening with the rough seas but I went to bed. My poor friend had never cruised before and she was up everytime the ship creaked. Granted, I would of been a wreak if that was my first time also. Anyone else on that cruise?

Friends of ours were on the same cruise as you, I heard quite a few stories about the rough seas. Our friends invited us to join them for this cruise, I'm happy now we weren't able to make it.

Wow. Sorry you did not get to enjoy CC. Was it rough the next day too? Why did they not try to dock on your "day at sea" - the next day?

We were on this cruise also. This was a 3 day due to the holiday so no next day docking. The seas were roughest on the way back to Port Canaveral. This was our first Disney cruise and my kids first cruise period. The weather was pretty bad. The staff were incredible and we had a good time. The weather in Nassau was really nice but Florida was cool before and after we returned. Of course it looks like it is warmer now. Just our luck.

We also had DS and DW come down with colds to top it off. Must not have been too bad for us since we booked a 7 day while on board. Will try to go at a warmer then.

How did your kids take the ship bouncing? I was wondering how the kids on board were reacting. Did you see those poor people when you got off the ship in Port Canaveral in the t-shirts and shorts? I felt so bad for all the people who were headed WDW. The Port Authoriity were saying "welcome to Alaska" to us.

The kids did pretty good. DS started to feel bad the last evening during the farewell party. He and DW went back to the room and DD and I hung for about 15 more minutes until she started feeling it. Once we got back we got them some dramamine and they slept well. I actually didn't feel it much on ship but the next day we were shopping at DTD and I started feeling a little weird. My body was used to dealing with the movement. Both DW and I had this for the next two days.

It was cool in DTD but we dressed well and were okay. Bright sunny day and we spent a lot of money on Chrismas decorations, maybe it was the cold weather!

Cab driver in Cocoa Beach said it had snowed earlier in the day... CRAZY.

It was very cold that weekend, I myself was at EPCOT all night at rehearsal in the 30-40 temps, brrrr... It sure felt like Alaska to us use to the 90's...lol. Glad to hear in the end everything turned out well.

It was my friends first cruise and she kept making comments that she was still on the boat after we got off. I didn't feel it until we stopped for gas some 4 hours later. I stepped out of the car and almost kept going down. We had it for 2 days but my brother said he has had it for almost a week.

We were on the cruise right before you ... it was quite cold leaving/returning to the port, and although the day at nassau and castaway cay were not "cold" they were overcast. We are from Florida and used to warm sunny days, so I was a bit disappointed, until I read your post and am thankful.... I feel so bad for you guys. I do remember the night we returned to the port the seas were high enough that our the interior doors in our cabin kept bumping ... and waking me up. But when we got off the boat, although cold, it was so sunny and DH mentioned how he had wished it was clear during our cruise so he could have seen the stars with our DD. Hope you have your land legs back!!! Maybe I'll see you on a warmer cruise in the future..... maybe JULY???? :rotfl:

ok,
I think that I have recovered enough from the trip to talk about it now....the ship was really movin' around on that last night......whew....

I was on the same cruise as you, and was thankful that while we didn't have clear skies, at least we had some warmth! We went from the cruise to WDW and froze! The whole time I kept thinking about the people on the ship and if they were cold as well!

I kept expecting to wake up and see my friend with her life jacket on! I was ok but it actually felt like the bed was moving in a circle. There was one pretty bad list to the side that worried me.

Wow, what a difference a week makes!! We sailed Nov 12 and we lucked out with the weather and calm seas. Sorry your cruise was so rough.

Thanks for the kind words. :cloud9: The last night was the only bad one so she had just enough time to get complacent when we hit rough sees heading back to Port Cavaneral. She did love it so much that she is joining us on the 7 day though. MY friends are more entertaining than any sitcom I could ever watch on tv. Couldn't make this stuff up.

We boarded the ship on 11/22 right after you guys departed. They were serving hot chocolate by the Mickey pool since it was so cool. My kids went swimming anyway.
The crew was still talking about the seas the night before(which was your cruise)
We had smooth sailing.
Glad you made the most of it. It sounds like you had a great time.
