So I just received a phone call from someone saying we won this thing they signed us up for when I bought my 1st dress from David's Bridal. We have 3 selections to choose from.

1. 3 days, 2 nights beach vacation to the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, or Mexico. We pay airfare, they pay everything else. (This being because it's all-inclusive resorts) Up to 2 yrs to use. Also $1000 worth of name brand grocery coupons to be selected by us from some coupon website.

2. Complimentary wedding bands. (We just bought ours the other weekend)

3. She never got to the 3rd choice!! :rotfl:

Guess she was excited?? :confused3 We have to go to Albany. The town where I bought the dress. She made sure to say it isn't some time-share thing. (It's at the Wyndham by Windsor Resorts) They will tell us about the prize selections, then have a cooking demonstration where we try everything after?? :confused3 Not sure about this part. They're also a bridal registry place. She said we don't have to use them, but they will provide a catalog... and we get up to 40 % off.

Sound legit?? Or too good to be true?? :confused3

Sorry to burst your bubble but everyone is a "winner" in that contest. The "cooking demonstration" is a high pressure sales pitch to buy their very expensive cook ware and china. They tell you about how all other cookware is deadly, etc. I sat through it years ago for a weekend vacation - which they did give us - but it wasn't worth it. I think the presentation was 3 hours or so. I cannot remmber the exact name of the company but I want to say that it is royal doulton? It is funny that you posted this because when I was @ DB a month or so ago my mom entered me in something and I just received the "you're a winner!" call last week.

Don't worry about my bubble. Def not busted! :thumbsup2 I'm the 1st person to 2nd guess something.

This is chefmasterusa.com. The resort selections are vivaresorts.com. And it's an hour long presentation.

The 1st thing I told DF when I got off the phone was it's a waste of time.

I've had 4 different companies call me since I went to DB for this. I didn't end up going to any of them. I do know someone that went and sat through a very long, boring presentation/sales pitch. They did get some voucher for the vacation, but she didn't seem too excited about it.

I got that phonecall too, but I didn't even let them get further than I won before I said no thanks and hung up. Anyways, I don't think it's such a great deal to pay for airfare and get a whole 2 nights free.
