Women: Ever Think About Having Make-Up Tattooed on Permanently?

Make-up is something us women put on daily, and touch up through out the day. Have you ever been interested in getting it put on permanently? I have. Not all make-up. Maybe just eye liner and masqera. My hands aren't steady due to a mild nervous disorder I have, so putting on eye liner daily has become quite a task!

For those who don't know, cosmetic sergeons offer this service, don't go down to your local tattoo parlor!

Thoughts please!

Nope. Never thought about it. Of course, at my age, I'd probably have to have it redone so frequently everytime a new wrinkle or line showed up - I'd be in the poorhouse in no time.:p

No! Especially after I saw 'Permanent Eyeliner Gone Bad' case on Judge Mathis! :p

Yea, I guess something could go wrong with every cosmetic procedure out there. I heard many stories of how breast augmentation goes bad, but I had the procedure 3 years ago and am doing excellent.

Very true! You just have to do what's best for you. :)

I have thought of at least eyeliner because it is a pain to me. Also hair removal, I will do that as soon as college is out and a little money is saved up. I think in time you spend just as much on time and products and water as it would be to have your legs done.

Nope....I never wear make-up.....

My aunt just had the eyeliner done. She had to go a few times because they apply it in stages. This is to darken it so it doesn't look faded. She sent me a picture of it and it looks nice, but I will have to see it in person to make a final judgement. She seems really happy with it though.

Be careful if you have skin allergies? I read somewhere that you could have a reaction from it!

Good luck!:sunny:

I'm kinda torn on this.
I mean - have you ever seen an 80year old man with tattoos...really faded and what not? Do you want your face to look like that in XX years?

I'm not a fan of eyeliner to begin with...so no problem there! :)

But I'm all for tattooing...heck, I have a martini on my back...love my tat!

I'd NEVER have it done!

I saw a programme where a client had her eyebrows permanently inked in, it looked terrible. Just think you can't go and wash it off if you're not happy with the results!

I agree with stinkerbelle - would you want to wear eyeliner when you're old and grey?

My grandma had her eyebrows tatooed on and believe it or not, it actually looks really natural. She wanted to do it because she is getting older and losing her hair, but she is still so young at heart. The woman who did it, did a fantastic job.

The only thing I have thought of doing was having my eyelashes dyed. I am a fair blonde and without mascara my eyes sort of disappear!! I've never worn eyeliner (thought I looked like a clown with it on!), so I guess I would not consider doing that. Think long and hard before you do it is all I would say!.......P

A girl I work with had it done (eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips) and it looked great. She said it does fade after a while, though, so you would need to get it re-done every so often. Also, she said in her case they did not use any painkillers! YIKES!!! What if she had flinched while they were doing that? :earseek: She said it did hurt and the reason they couldn't use painkiller was becuase the lady performing the procedure was a cosmetician and not a liscenced doctor. Although she had the procedure performed in a cosmetic surgeon's office, so I don't understand. Anyway, she was very happy with the results and it looked very natural.

That's what my 80 + year old mom wants!!

She has literally no eyebrows, and has been penciling them in for decades!! Her biggest fear is that the mortician who handles her funeral will not know how to do her eyebrows properly!!

I also work with a woman who has the eyeliner. It is so natural looking that I didn't even know it was a tattoo until she told me.

I had my eyebrows done 2 months ago. It looks great! I had basically lost most of the hair and was pencilling it on. The problem....I have oily skin and if I accidentally touched my eyebrows then I would have a "naked" spot.

The work will last approximately 7-10 years (depending on your sun exposure and other variables). This procedure is like any other "surgery" in that you have consultations to discuss what you want, he/she draws it on, you discuss any changes (thicker/thinner, etc). Mine was done in three appointments. First was consult, second was basic eyebrow, 3 week healing and getting used to the look, then last (for me, anyway cause I was satisfied) was filling in any spots "drawing" on more hairs and thickening them.

Ask around, get references and check them out, have a consult, look at her/his previous work and then make a decision based on how you feel.::yes::
