Women and hairloss

I have noticed that my part above my forehead is getting larger than the back of my head. I have a very full head of hair but am noticing that it is thinner at the top/front of my head. ????

Could this be a medical issue?

Does anyone else experience things like this?

What can someone do? Shorten their hair (to make it appear fuller?)?

My Mom's hair got thin due to a thyroid problem, but she lost it from all parts of her head.
I had a friend that had basically male pattern baldness, only the female variety. Her doctor told her to use Rogaine, but if she stopped using it the hair would become thin again.
I believe severe stress can also contribute to hair loss.
If you go to a dermatologist they can determine if it's an infection or anything.

Go to a dermatologist. When I did LA Weightloss last year to lose pregnancy weight, I started losing some hair (I lost alot of weight really quickly). I got really scared, and went to the dermatologist. They could tell that it wasn't pattern baldness, and explained that any radical change (stress, diet, grief, medication) would cause hair to fall out (which is what was happening). I also have a really thick head of hair, they did a pull test to see if it was still coming out, and since it wasn't noticeable to them, they really put my mind at ease. They said if it kept falling out, they would do bloodwork, but at the time, wasn't necessary They did give me a mousse to use to stimulate my scalp, but kept telling me that I didn't really need it, and I didn't end up using it. I just went back to the hairdresser, and she even said (she had noticed the slight hair thinning) that my hair was much thicker now. Try the dermatologist.
