woman expecting twins.

I am also confused by this thread. Do you mean that the twins have separate fathers? Will they be identical, or like the Bush twins? Did the expectant mother borrow money from you?

today I saw a pregnant woman..who is expecting twin girls..isn't that cool. she was just so nice I couldn't help but want to help her. I send out love, happiness and health to her.. I hope everyone see's how great she is by doing this.

OMG some of the comments here are beyond hilariious!! I've got tears in my eyes from laughing!

That said, I think it's cool that the OP was so moved by this woman. God bless her, having ONE kid is a handful, having two... My cousin has 18 month old twins and they run her ragged. But oh are they CUTE!!!!!

Personally, I think pregnant women are just beautiful. They have a certain glow about them. And the whole miracle of life thing just gets to me. I never had the honor or pleasure of carrying my children for 9 months. I know many have difficult pregnancies, especially with multiples. But I still think it would have been pretty awesome to "have" my kids the "old fashioned" way. Ahhh, but then I'd never have gone to Russia, and I wouldn't have MY kids!

...and I wasn't talking about this lady. I was just stating that from MY experience, twin pregnancies are tough. It's fairly routine for every twin pregnancy to come with a lot of extra monitoring.....especially if the twins are felt to be identical. I don't think most people realize, regardless of how common multiples are, that having twins is not simply being pregnant and coming home with 2 babies. I know that I didn't. I'm not saying that we are any more special. Heck, I have 3 singletons too and those pregnancies were just as special.

I found out I was having twins at 9 wks along. The story of the rest of my pregnancy could be stated as, "We'll just keep monitoring it." It was a very scary and stressful time (and of course it was wonderful too). I am so thankful that things turned out so well for my little twinkies...and I appreciated every prayer that anyone was willing to make for us. As a matter of fact, one of my girl's middle name is Faith...because that, and all the prayers/support we got, is what got us through a lot of these days.

Maybe the thread is odd...but I've seen far worse things posted than someone saying she felt moved to show support for another human being.

I never worried with my twin pregnancy. I had to be induced with my first 3 (one was at 42 weeks), and wasn't even dilated at 36 weeks with my twins. It was more painful, but it never occured to me that there might be complications, or bedrest. When my OB told me to drive myself to the hospital for a c/s at 37 weeks for hypertension, I told her I'd have to go home first and pack! :rotfl2: It never crossed my mind that they were going to be born on the 10th instead of the 20th.

I think its wonderful that someone is sending out good vibes for someone else. Pregnancy and twins may not be so remarkable to some, but it is wonderful for someone.

Its like birthday wishes. Everyone has a birthday, it doesn't make it any less special when it occurs.

Premature birth was the least of my worries. I was monitored very closely for Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. Plus I had gestational diabetes (more common in multiples), a subchorionic hematoma (put me on bedrest at 9 wks), and a few other bumps. Then I was back on modified bedrest from 24 wks - 33 wks...told it was pretty much routine for mulitple pregnancies.

I had ultrasounds every 3 to 4 weeks...very common with twins. I had non-stress tests every week from 30 weeks on...also common with twins. I also drove in for my 37 week c-section (my only c-sec of my 4 pregnancies..because they did not want to put the smaller twin through a regular birth).

I'm glad your pregnancy was stree-free though.

Here is what I find odd about this thread...or maybe sad:

Someone comes on here and posts that she met a lady that was pregnant with twins. For whatever reasons, she felt moved enough by this lady that she wanted to send out some random good thoughts... This, to the general public, apparently is odd.

On the other hand...A group of people post replies to someone just trying to do something nice, making fun of her intentions. Unlike the original gesture done in the name of good will (which is considered odd), these condenscending posts are considered perfectly normal (not odd) and gets kudos from everyone else.

Typically I'm not the high-and-mighty type (as I am miles away from perfect), but I think this is kind-of sad. Maybe it's because one of mine twins (almost 3 yrs old) has a very high fever right now (waiting for my DH to come watch the other twin in 15 min to take her to the Ped...nervous) ...I'll take prayers and well wishes from anyone. I'm not picky!

I hope your baby feels better.

Somf of ya'll are just downright mean sometimes, aren't ya'?

By...having babies? :confused3

Maybe there is more to the story than just a lady having twins. Maybe she is a surrogate, or had trouble concieving and had IVF, or is unable to care for them and is giving them up for adoption????

Thank you for thinking of my DD. She went through a lot of tests today. Her temp hit 105.4

We ruled out strep, UTI (catheter was not fun) and had a chest x-ray done...it was clear. So, hopefully it is just viral. Her temp only went back up to 101 tonight.

Thanks again...
Jess

Good grief that's a high temp! Poor baby. Hope whatever it was is gone fast. Take care. It's hard when your child is sick.

I don't have babies. I guess I am not special. :sad1:

I have kitties though. Rescued kitties. Maybe I am special after all. :goodvibes
