Not sure if anyone has already posted, but there have been reports that Wolfgand Puck's Grand Cafe is closing as of 1 Aug. This is in preparation for Wolfgang's Bar and Grill opening. I have seen anything specific about the Express', but I imagine the on the Westside will also be closing at the same time.

I guessing the new Spanish concept may be taking its place.

The two different WGP locations are owned by different companies. The Market Place location is owned by WGP corporate the other is owned by Levy restaurants who also owns Paddlefish.

So the Express will remain open?
The WGPE by marketplace? Yes, it'll remain open during the reno. Thats no where near the WGP Restaurant on the other side. Long term though, its probably going to remain open as its always busy. All the time! But of course i dont work for disney, so who knows for sure. :)

I was aware that Wolfgang Puck Cafe was being run by the Levy Restaurant group, and several years ago Wolfgang visited the restaurant and was not pleased. While things may have improved for a while, there may have been an agreement to let the management contract to expire.

Looking at Wolfgang's and Levy's websites. The Express concept is owned and operated by Wolfgang's group. Wolfgang's Bar and Grill concept is also owned and operated by Wolfgang's group. So the new restaurant at Disney Springs will mostly likely be owned and operated by Wolfgang.

So my guess is that the Market Place Express will survive as it always seem to busy.

If the new restaurant is like the Puck Grille at the Borgota that would be great

Looking at the menu for WP - American Grill at the Borgota while there is a bit of overlap with the Bar and Grill. The Borgota restautant seems more upscale while the the Disney Springs restaurant is more casual.

The Borgota location isn't open for lunch so I would think they will have a mix of upscale and casual for Disney. We ate at the Bar &Grille at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas 8 years ago and they had a mix of both.
