I know it says its included on the 2013 brochure, but we ate at the WPE in Downtown Disney Marketplace today for lunch and my husband overheard two staff members say that they hate the dining plan and cannot wait until next week so they do not have to deal with it anymore.

Has anyone else heard this?

It's listed on the 2013 dining plan brochure, so I'm assuming it's still included.

I hope so. Didn't make it to DTD last trip, and really want to eat there this time.

I dont see why they would hate it. Maybe at WPC because of the tip not being added in but at WPE I really don't see how the plan would effect them. Any ideas? In our case we probably would not go for lunch if not on the plan. Too $$. We usually spend around $50 for 2 for CS and would not spend that much OOP. And we always tip!

Next time we are down there I will ask. DH is positive that is what the person taking his order said, but we did not ask anyone else. We are here until the 6th, maybe i will drop in on Jan 1 and ask if they take DDP.

That's what I think too. I am hoping he misunderstood the conversation....

:confused3

I hope not, have never had the chance to go and would love to go next time!!!!

Maybe those employees were quitting after the first of the year or transferring somewhere else, or they were hired seasonally. But the restaurant is definitely on the dining plan.

Most likely they don't like it because they often end up having to explain to people how to use it and what they're entitled to and not entitled to. Apparently some guests get upset when they find out they're not entitled to sides, etc.

That makes more sense to me....

I saw a lot of annoying guests using the DDP at WPE when we were there in July 2012. One family used roughly 30 CS credits and had bags and bags of food delivered to their table. It was beyond ridiculous. We had an extra to use so we used 4 credits for our family of 3 (plus one infant) and we were chatting with the server who brought our food out. That family held up the rest of our orders and the server apologized. She told us that people constantly come in to use up their credits to get the most for their DDP credits because you get so much bang for your buck at WPE.
