Wolfgang Puck Cafe

I've only been once - it was last year. We originally were at Bongos, even seated, and after 15 minutes of not even a greeting we got up and left and went to WPC.

It truly was a fantastic dining experience. We had a really great waitress (course, service can always be hit or miss but she was great and we told her so!). The food was very good. I had sushi, which was good (they have a sushi chef making it fresh inside) and the kettle chips with blue cheese on them was very memorable and something I hope to get each time we head down there.

All in all, it was a great spot and it saved the evening that had started out so frustrating.

We thought that it was ok. The food is pretty different, but it's a good place to try once. I don't think that we'll go again, but I'm glad that we tried it.

I love WPC - ate there twice on my last trip. I think they have very good sushi, good pasta and salads too. They have a pumpkin ravioli and a spinch and apple salad that are excellent. They have outdoor seating overlooking the main walkway though the west side. I'll be eating there again next month !

My parents just decided to join us for dinner one night during our trip to the world. They want to meet on our AK day so I've had to cancel Yak and Yeti since they won't be going to the parks. WPC looks like it might be an option since they have availability and it is outside of the parks.

Can you tell me about the seating? We'll be coming straight from a full day at the park. Will we feel out of place? Should we ask for the outside seating area? Is it more casual?

And the food? Any more reviews?

Thanks!

Our last trip we did have ADR's and ate there for dinner one evening. The food was good...not great..........service was very slow.........waiter seemed to disappear for very long periods.....didn't see him around at all really which was kinda odd. :sad2: If you asked DH if he'd go back, the answer would be yes for sure. If you asked me, no I probably wouldn't. Again, I didn't hate it...just was hoping it would be a little better.

As far as would you feel out of place after being in a park all day...No, not at all......when we were there, we were actually in non park attire and there were far less people dressed like us then people in their shorts, tanks and flip flops........be comfortable and dress how you want to. You will see a little bit of everything there.

For a side note though, the Wolfgang Puck Express..... I'd go everyday to that LOL!!

WPC was ok. The calamari was not the best if you compare it to Spoodles or Mama Melrose. and i don't even remember my entree, which i guess means its forgetable...i never forget a Disney meal!!!;)

Thanks for the info! This is exactly what I needed to know.

My family has dined at both many times and WPCafe was much better a few years ago before the Dining Plan ruined everything. There were wonderful steaks, chicken dishes and pasta on the menu and now the pickins' are very slim, and when we ate there last year there was no steak at all!

The MUCH BETTER choice is WPExpress which is just to the left of the front entrance (directly across from Virgin records). This is a great deal as it's a Quick Service meal (or counter service) yes, you do order at the counter but then you sit down at a very nice table outside or in and the utensils are not plastic and the servers bring the meal to the table. The 4 of us usually share 2 pizzas and 2 pastas and they are definitely dinner size and very tasty! We never have room for dessert and they are prepacked which makes it convenient to bring back to the room and eat later for a snack or even for breakfast on the run (what's wrong with carrot cake for breakfast?)
There is also another location on the other side of DD that is just WP Express but we haven't been there yet.
For our upcoming trip we are having a TS lunch at Teppan Edo and then going to DD for dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express, mmmmm I can hardly wait for the yummy pizza!

We've been three times and each time has been outstanding for service and food! Maybe we were just lucky.
We happen to gauge restaurants based on the calamari and this one rated really high for us! We really love this place..I hope we do this next trip too!

I better go check out the menu.

Based on prior ecperience I would even go here 2x a trip!

Great deal on the Dining Plan? So the Dining Plan hasn't really "ruined everything". I was about to blame it for Global Warming as well.:rotfl2:
