Wolfgang Puck Cafe Dining Plan Warning!

We went to Wolfgang Puck Cafe for dinner on Sat Aug 19th. We purchased the dining plan through DVC. We had used the dining plan all week and the server was always given an excellent 18% tip, and my husband and I would put down an extra couple of dollars to round it out to a 20% tip.

When I looked at our bill at Wolfgang Puck Cafe it was only 70 dollars. I knew that couldn't be right, so I added in my head and figured that our meal would have cost 107 dollars before tax and tip. That would mean I would need to leave about a 21 dollar tip. The restaurant charged a total sum of 30 dollars per person, and then only gave the server 10 dollars! He was excellent! He refilled my husband's pop about six times, he was basically an excellent server! I felt terrible that the restaurant had shorted him so much. I assumed that this place would be like every other restaurant we had been to all week, and would give him 18%. I felt terrible because I only had eight dollars on my in cash (I figured I would only need about five) I left what I had, and felt somewhat okay about it, because that would have been at least around 15%-but he deserved more.

Please please please bring extra money and tip you server well if you eat here! The service that he gave us was deserving of MUCH more than LESS than 10% of what our bill would have been!

I think I read somewhere on the Boards that $30. pp (Adult) is what Disney reimburses any of the non-Disney owned restaurants when the Dining Plan is used. That would make sense for your reduced bill. My friend and I will be eating there on 9/22 and I will make sure I have cash for an extra tip. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up too! I have ADR there for Thurs. and always try to reward good service and would hate to think my meal would jip someone.
