We are going at the end of January with dd2 and ds6. After a day at MGM, I was thinking DTD would be a good place to head to for dinner. Right now I have an ADR at the Cafe but am thinking perhaps we might be better off at CS as we have a long week of sitting down to eat and my 2 year old can be challenging about sitting down for dinner everyday. Do you think we will be able to get an indoor table at that time of the year without a problem (thinking night might be a bit chilly to eat outside). We are already planning on eating at Earl the first night we arrive otherwise I would just eat there. Is the food at the Express any good? Which would you prefer?

We love WPE next to Earls, the food is so good, the portions are huge and the price is pretty reasonable.

We almost always hit th Express next to Earl of Sandwich. LOVE LOVE LOVE the four cheese pizza, so it's a must do for us. I've never had a problem getting a table inside, and we've been when it's super busy. It seems people don't linger too long, so there's usually a table about to open up as we're finishing up in line.

Or maybe we're just really lucky on timing.

It's so small inside that you could probably have your 6 year old go sit at a table when it opens up while you're in line. In most places I'd never think of telling someone to let their 6 year old go by themselves, but this place is so small inside that you could easily keep your eye on him while you finish ordering. Plus they bring the food out to you once you find a seat, so you don't have to worry about watching for him and juggling a tray of food. Just place your order, pay and go join him. Of course it depends on your son - if he'd be comfortable sitting quietly by himself for a few minutes.

We ate at both on our Sept 2007 trip and everyone preferred the Express. IMHO The food was just better. Everyone loved the roasted chicken and garlic mashed potato. We ranged in ages from 18 months, 8 yrs, 11 yrs, to 31 yrs and everyone found something they liked. As a matter of fact our last day I asked everyone where they wanted for counter service and they all wanted the Express so we made a special trip back to DTD just for that.

It's been years since we've eaten at the Cafe but going to give it another shot. I had heard such good things about the Express that maybe it just didn't live up to my expectations. I wasn't that impressed and if I had to choose between Earl of Sandiwch and WGP Express I would choose Earl!
Maybe we just picked the wrong dish, I don't know, but whatever you decide I wish you a wonderful and yummy dining experience!

:cheer2:

I have hit WPE on both of our most recent trips, and we love it. It is a nice break for the craziness of the parks, and the food is great. We enjoy it because you can get your food quickly, and it's a change from the food in the parks. We were there in August, and didn't have a problem finding a table. The turnover of tables seemed to go quite quickly.
IMO, it would be a nice change for all of you considering you have many other sit down meals.
