I guess its Murphy's Law, on the day when there is snow on the ground, and a very frigid day, the furnace decides to breaK!

I woke up at 530 am to a frigid house.

DH has been trying to contact oil service places, and we are getting "You don't get oil from us, so we won't come"

Anyway, send warm thoughts to us...

Not a good day for that. try to keep warm. Hope help is on the way soon.

That stinks! Sending warm thoughts your way!

Sending some Georgia sunshine your way...:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: ...cuddle up and stay warm!

You might just have to use that new oven to keep warm. Just kidding. You don't want to burn your house down.

I hope that you can find someone to repair your furnace soon. Ours always seems to die on the coldest day of winter.

John, I was thinking that too. She doesn't have a tricky oven now but sounds like she has a tricky furnace.

I hope you get that furnace working very soon, sweetie. Stay warm.

lol! I was thinking about the new oven... but I just may start the dishwasher.. the steam warms up the kitchen!

The repair guy called and apologized for being late! Thumbs up for that customer service!

Ohhh I just went through that, then a pipe froze and burst. I feel for you. Its not warm here either or i'd send you some, the best I can do is give you a warm:hug: . Try to stay warm.

P.S. Bake some cakes in your oven, that will warm you up!

That happened to us on our first year in our new home 10 years ago. Naturally, it was one of the coldest days that year.

I hope it gets fixed soon. In the meantime, turn on your faucets to a slow trickle so that the pipes don't freeze. The ones running along an exterior wall are especially vulnerable.

Next, put on a pot of soup, plug in an electric heater and settle in. I'm sending warm thoughts your way from the frozen parts of PA.

Sorry about your furnace. Our heater broke Monday, and it got down to like 64 in my house.

I hope your furnace gets fixed soon. I'm sending warm thoughts your way.

So far they said something about a broken coupling on the burner?

(Whatever that means?)

They have a saw, and are sawing away down there

Oh I think if it is the coupling you'll be ok in no time. I'm pretty sure we have had that done before without any problems. When ours went a few weeks ago they had to order a part :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: 3 days no heat!!

Thank god we put in a pellet stove this year !!

!

this isn't a good idea if your furnace provides your hot water..you will use up the hot water in the furnace, and not be able to replace it since the furnace is broken......

on the other hand if your furnace is for heat only..and you have an electric water heater...then I suppose it might work..

but I'd think that if the room temp drops far enough..the steam would just condense causing a water problem.....
