OOOOH, you ARE gambling!! Best of luck with ROFR, hope it goes thru. I would love to own OKW but the recent buy-backs scared me off. No stomach for it right now, maybe next year.

I think OKW is the perfect place to buy. You get all the excitement of shopping for a contract and signing a deal and you don't ever have to pay anything because Disney takes it away from you. It's like half the fun of buying with none of the costs! :)

Not quiet so fun for us Canadians though as we end up paying an exchange fee twice, once to convert Canadian$ to US$ to pay the deposit and then again when we get the deposit back from US$ to Canadian$. I think each contract at OKW that I lost cost me about just over $50 (very annoying).

My thoughts exactly!! i am not really in the need of points yet, but will be in the future, and this was the perfect little add on. And an ability to take an extra vacation with banked points. If is gets ROFR'd no big deal. If it goes through it will be like hitting the vacation lottery. Have AP's and enough points for free flights for the family:thumbsup2

Not only do you get to shop but you get your deposit back after they take it, money is already gone so it will feel like they are paying you to shop:lmao:

Very nice. Hope it passes. I just got an email about a VWL for $44 pp but I hear it sold within 2 minutes of the email going out. I can't imagine that one passing.

Seriously, that's crazy! Which broker was that? The only good news is that Mike and I may have a better shot at ROFR if the monkey see that one go through, lol.

an independent broker whose email list I landed on somehow during my search for small brokers in an attempt to increase my chances by reducing my competition. The flip side is that sellers don't get a ton of exposure and often resort to desperate fire sales such as this.

I just got a very similar deal at VWL, will post the details once it is signed and sent to ROFR, so probably next week sometime.

No one ever talks about VWL but when they do it is nothing but good things. I actually just put in a waitlist for the weekend before Tgiving. I hope it comes through real anxious to see what all the hype is. And if it does come through i think the christmas decorations will be up. At this rate i will probably own points there before i go there:lmao:

Had i gotten that $44 email i would have certainly taken a bite!

By the time I had inquired about that $44/point contract it had already sold. Don't know what the details were about how many points it came with or who was paying for what.

I'm going to be down to WDW at Christmas this year and am going to make an effort to go see VWL and see what their decorations look like, caused I'd heard the resort is suppose to look real nice at that time of year.

Don't you have an account at suntrust yet? Keep deposit money there!

That's exactly why we bid there. My DH LOVED the resort and we have heard it does an amazing Christmas. In ROFR now, so fingers crossed! So how many points did you get on your contract?

Btw, we will be there at Xmas time too, so maybe we will pass you :)

Thanks, just faxed back contracts, will give details once sent to rofr, i am ready to go head to head with the monkey:tiptoe:

Do you even realize what you are saying? You are provoking the monkey. Don't provoke the monkey. :)
