WOC which dining pkg has the best vewing seats for small kids?

I know our 4 year old will love WOC, he's all about water and lights right now. So I was thinking that purchasing a dining pkg might be the best way for him to see it up close being he's only 4 and it's standing only? Does anyone know if the "Disney Dining Reserved Viewing section" is the same spot for any of the dining packages? (picnic vs Wine Country Trattoria or Carthay Circle)

You won't get a better view with the dining option. The free FP will let you get just as close as long as you arrive plenty early for your show. Here is a SuperThread on WOC..

Thanks for the link! But wouldn't eating at say Carthay get us into the closer preferred dining area and the ability to not have to go so early for a spot? My 4 year old will not like to go early and just wait for the show if he can go on more rides.

Regardless of what "section" you are in you still need to arrive early and get a spot at the railing to get a good view. Bring a small toy/game for him to play with & keep him occupied.

People in preferred dining are not guaranteed a great spot. I have heard several complaints about where preferred diners have to view the show as well.

It's all about getting there early. Each section has a limited number of front rails with groups in front of you dropped down a level. Your kiddos won't see if you aren't on a front rail, and you can't (shouldn't!) put them on your shoulders.

If your son is totally into the lights and fountains, but may not care as much for the animation clips on the water screens, you can always view from the back (by CA Screamin') with a much shorter wait (no FP required). We've done this with young kids, max. wait is about 30 minutes, and being right up at the railing, the view of the water and lights (and fire!) has been fine. From an adult point of view, the view is hardly great. But from a small child's view (when they really care most about the colors and water and fire), it must be pretty good, based on the responses of the kids we've taken.
