WOC Viewing Package - Lunch vs. Dinner

We are planning on doing the World of Color View Package at Carthay Circle in September. Is there a difference in viewing location if you book lunch vs. dinner? If so, is the difference significant? Thanks in advance!

the location should be the same. The key differences are (I think) the menu may be slightly different, lunch may be slightly less expensive, and if there are 2 WOC shows that day depending on your dinner reservation time you may get FP's for the 2nd show. We've only done the package for dinner which we liked - we recently did ala carte lunch (no package) and enjoyed that as well so you can't really go wrong.

One benefit of doing dinner, if you get a say, 5pm reservation, is you can request a table in the area near the outside so when the Pixar Parade passes by you can go out on the balcony and watch it for a little while. Lunch benefits are that you can enjoy some A/C on a very hot day during peak heat time.

Cost is the only diff. We do the Carthay Circle Lunch which is fabulous for the first WOC show. That day we do a big lunch and then corn dogs for dinner while we wait for the WOC show. Carthay in the past has the best viewing areas.

I recommend doing lunch as well! It's about $20 cheaper per adult and you get the same viewing location as dinner! We did a late lunch (2:00ish) and then snacked for dinner when we did this back in December.

I recommend lunch because the service at Carthay Circle is super slow, and I doubt you want to have to run to your showtime right after your meal. Viewing location is the same for both meals.

Good to know, I had the same question. Any idea when we'll know about WOC show times for late Sept/early Oct? Same 6 weeks out as other shows or is it more standard?

I wanted to add a couple of questions to this. First, what is the time when lunch changes to dinner? I'd like to eat a late lunch, but I don't want to pay dinner prices, lol.

Second, are there different viewing areas for different restaurants?

Thanks!

according to the CC page, it looks like dinner reservations start at 4:30pm and lunch ends at 3:30pm.

Carthay has their own reserved section - dead center and raised up a bit from the water - perfect view IMO.
When we went in May the other restaurants (Wine Country Trattoria and Ariel's) both shared a section which was off center, I think to the left of the CC section.

oops - forgot to answer calendar question. I think typically they fill in the entertainment stuff in 4-6 weeks prior but for our May trip, originally it said there would just be 1 WOC show but then a couple of weeks before our trip they added a 2nd show. It was Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon weekend and Mother's day was Sunday (our show was Fri night) - so maybe they figured it would be a busy night so they added a show.

That's good to know. Although I think we are looking at Wine County Trattoria. The other menus don't have anything our daughter would touch. Personally, I just want a cheeseburger, I don't have a need for a fancy meal.

Oh - the best cheeseburger I've had in years was a few weeks ago at lunch for Carthay Circle. I don't know if it's on the WOC menu though. I had a horrible burger at Carnation Cafe a few days prior.

I don't recall what DD5 ate for lunch that day (just remembered- soba noodle bowl which she really liked). When she did the WOC dinner in May she had a steak(filet) dinner w/ broccoli and mac & cheese balls which she loved although the steak as overcooked so we had to send it back -but when it came back it was delicious (we had to taste it).
