Anyone have a clear idea on how this is going to work? Is it just going to be a huge flat open area for you and 8,999 of your closest friends? Can we say mosh pit? :rotfl:

Seriously though, I assume at least a third of these will be kids and a shoulder to shoulder standing room only sound like a disaster waiting to happen especially in a confined environment. Why even build a viewing area without seating? It just seems safer to have a standing room only viewing area in a wide open space like Main Street or even like the Fantasmic Set up.

Am I missing something? :confused3

I usually have lots of faith in Disney, but this has worried me for a while. I scratched my head even more when they added the trellises that will cut down on the views and space available.I think they are trying to have a park and a viewing area maybe too equitably.

I agree. I have tons of faith in Disney as well. What they have been able to accomplish between the Cruise Line and the parks has been amazing, but now that it's looking like we'll be there within the first month of the unveiling of this show, I'm a bit worried about it.

We are normally WDW visitors and are not used to the open seating at Fantasmic and this seems to be one step worse. Even at Fantasmic in WDW, things can get a bit hectic at times. I just can't imagine how that will play out with standing room only especially when everyone wants their kids to be able to see. I foresee a lot of shoving to get to a railing and people trying to put kids up on their shoulders. I mean you can hardly blame people in that scenario, why would you take your kids to a show they can't see?

This is a big problem for anyone who is even a little bit claustrophobic.

How are kids going to see anything?

What if you or your child has to go to the bathroom, there is no way to get your spot back or worse not be able to get through the 9,000 people.

They had to be thinking of these problems, lets hope they have a good answer.

I had not even thought the of the bathroom thing! Especially with having to wait in line you know people are going to have to take kids to the bathroom.

It just seems like making stadium seating for 4,500 would have been smarter than standing for 9,000. No wonder they are moving the Electrical Parade and getting nervous about handling the crowds. They are setting up a situation where crowd maneuvering could be a nightmare!

It looks like it may be similar to the "standing room only" at the very back (top) of Fantasmic seating at WDW where there are some terraced concrete "steps" sort of. It seemed to work out okay when I had to sit there, as long as people stayed seated instead of standing. Nonetheless I do feel it is going to take weeks if not months to work out the bugs.

That sounds much better than the alternative but I agree, it will only work if people sit. I have never sat in that section at Fantasmic in WDW. We always do the dinner package to get preferred seating. I hope they implement some sort of dinner package/preferred (any) seating package sooner rather than later although I doubt anything would be up and running by June 25th.

My biggest hope is that there will be quality viewing around the bay......little nooks and crannies.
