WoC rumor - Fact or Fiction

I don't know if this is true or not, which is why I am turning to all you wonderful Disneyland aficionados :) I can't remember where I saw it, but it said that during the week there will be only 1 show and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there will be 2. Does anyone know if I did indeed read something correctly ?

If this is true, then I need a little help with logistics. The following are our plans:

We will be there Oct 26th - Nov 1
Attending MHP on the 26th
Fantasmic and Fireworks on the 30th
Had planned WoC for the 28th

Would we be better off doing WoC on a night when MHP is going on, either the 29th or 31st which would allow us to choose between times ... or ... keep it on the 28th and miss out on staying in Disney until it closes?

I don't know how busy DCA is going to be on the nights that they have MHP ? Also, as far as getting a FP for WoC, do I need to get 1 if I am disabled or is there a special line that I would just go directly to? Do I need to get a FP for my DH, so he can be with me?

Thank you and :goodvibes

I don't know if that rumor is true or not. It sounds dumb, but who knows. I can tell you that I was at DCA last night during MHP (bad planning on my part lol) and the place was a zoo! The wait time for Soarin was 150 minutes! However, there were still fast passes for the 11:15 WOC show available at 8:30 pm. Navigating the park will be a challenge but I'm all for not wasting dl time.

Now see, I would think that DCA would be a bit quieter during the MHP because people are doing that instead of being over at DCA ... guess I better stop thinking :rotfl2:

I am hoping that because I am disabled, we will not have to wait in too many lines. However, navigating through crowds with a scooter can be a bit dangerous ... for everyone else :lmao:

I guess when I call to make our dining reservations, I will ask to be connected to someone who can tell me more about disability issues and whether DH needs to get a FP :confused3

On the Disney Site they are showing a 8:15 only show for the date you were asking. I just got back and saw the show. it is approx 25 minutes long and worth the wait.

I am thinking I should probably change our viewing of WoC to the 29th, as we want to eat at AG right before the show and this would allow us 2 different dining and viewing times.

I really wish there was not so much planning needed for this trip :rolleyes1

Thanks

Since the Halloween Party at DL is a private event, it is probably going to increase traffic for everyone else at DCA. Even though you are disabled, yes, you will need to acquire FastPasses for WOC, as will your DH. I suggest you get them EARLY, especially if you go on a day that will only have one WOC showing. If you decide to go on a day that has two, you don't get to pick which showing you'll attend when you pick up the FP, they are just first come first serve. My PERSONAL recommendation, after trying to go to WOC only to have it be cancelled due to mechanical problems, then having to wait a few months before I could go again is this - I'd plan to go to WOC on your FIRST night, then, if they are out of FastPasses that first day, try to get it the second day, etc. etc. That way, if something happens on the first day and you can't see WOC, you still have other opportunities to do so.

Great idea :thumbsup2 Our first night is Oct 26th and as soon as we check in to our hotel, get costumes on, we will be heading over to DL for MHP. But, I will have DH start his attempt to get our FPs the following morning. We are not leaving until Nov 1, so I think even if we are not able to get to WoC within the first couple of days, we still have some time.

Sounds fun!

Just a note - Your DH can get your WOC FP for you without you being there, but your park ticket will have to be activated that morning at either DL or DCA first before he can use it to get the pass.

Have a great trip!

Hey Tigger!

I hope you are doing well. Great to hear you are returning to DLR! :goodvibes

I thought maybe I could help offer a few ideas to help for your trip.

Now see, I would think that DCA would be a bit quieter during the MHP because people are doing that instead of being over at DCA ... guess I better stop thinking :rotfl2:
Well, there's 2 ways to look at it:
1. DCA will be crowded because everyone that wants to stay and enjoy the evening, but has not bought an additional ticket to MHP will be over at DCA.
2. DCA will not be THAT crowded because people will plan not to come to DLR on the day of a MHP if they are not going to the private event because they don't want to have shorter hours a DL.

Which of these is true? It's a little too early in the season to know just yet, but I would say more 1 than 2. Just a guess, though.

However, navigating through crowds with a scooter can be a bit dangerous ... for everyone else :lmao:
Ahhh, memories! :rotfl: :lmao: :goodvibes Look out! Tigger's comin' through! :moped: (You know I am just joking.... sort of. :goodvibes)

I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to here regarding DH needing to get a FP, but if it is in regard to WoC, everyone needs a FP. There are certain designated areas for wheelchairs and ECV's, but everyone needs a FP.

I am thinking I should probably change our viewing of WoC to the 29th, as we want to eat at AG right before the show and this would allow us 2 different dining and viewing times.

Okay, now, you mention eating at AG. Do you know about the WoC dining package at WoC that includes a WoC FP? If you do this option, you do not have to get FPs earlier in the morning as you will get it from your dinner package at AG.

My other suggestion is for you to do the boxed dinner for WoC. It's a pretty good deal and, again, you don't have to fuss around with the FP distribution earlier in the day as you get a FP with your boxed dinner.

Just a couple of ideas..... I hope they help a little.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. Again, I hope you are doing well. Here's to a great Disney trip for you and DH. :wizard:

This is not a rumor, 100% true since summer ended this is how they have scheduled WoC. However on Friday a third, unscheduled, show was added, don't know about last night. Or if this is the case on MHP nights. Right now if may be a once time anomoly.

It's doesn't matter, most MHP party goers come in the afternoon. They aren't there early to get WoC FPs like you would be.

Disneydreams mentioned that you willl need a FP, everyone does for this show. There is a handicapped area in each FP section. So no matter if you get a FP from the distribution area, picnic or dinner, you will be in the handicapped area corresponding to your FP color destination.

FWIW, for your dissability you will want to get a GAC card at guest services the first morning of you trip.

Ahhh, memories! :rotfl: :lmao: :goodvibes Look out! Tigger's comin' through! :moped: (You know I am just joking.... sort of. :goodvibes)

I have actually learned my lesson about speeding, :moped: and amusement parks. I am very courteous, cautious and even drive on the slow side now :rolleyes1 I found a company outside of DLR that will deliver a scooter to our hotel for less than what it would cost me at DL, so I will need to take extra precautions ;) I am also hoping to get a bit more walking in and have been hitting the treadmill a little bit :scared:

This is what I was not aware of, that EVERYONE must get a FP.

Now that you made me aware of this, I did order the boxed lunch for DH and myself. I had already made PS for lunch that day at Ariel's as we had another coupon to use, but canceled that and added another "character" breakfast on a different morning.

Just a couple of ideas..... I hope they help a little.

I really appreciate your ideas and clarification on the FP situation :thumbsup2 I just do not remember this much planning when CowboysGirl, her mom, CaribbeanGal, and I came down. Maybe that was because we were more laid back about everything and we only had the 1 PS at Cafe Orleans/Blue Bayou.

Now I have to plan for DH to get in some "golf" time, character meals, MHP, Fantasmic, WoC, etc it has become quite a :headache:

Dreams, I hope all is well with you and yours and thank you for your condolences :goodvibes Would love to catch up with you some time and I hope you will be attending MHP :woohoo: We are really excited about this trip, all the decorations and MHP. DH is an absolute Jack Skellington fanatic, so I know he is going to have a great time, which equals a happy Tigger too :cool1:
