Mouseplanet weekly update is reporting that a tenative opening date for WOC is Tuesday June 1.

We will be coming in June so I hope it doesn't get pushed back any later.

Especially considering the fact that we June visitors will not have the Electrical Parade because of the WOC opening. It would be really disappointing to miss out on both. We're not arriving until late June so surely it will be up and running by then.

I found this part interesting....

...A source at Walt Disney World told MousePlanet last week that details of a new Annual Passport that will be valid at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World would be announced today. We've since learned that the announcement has been postponed until later in March—we'll keep you posted as we have more details.

:headache: We're going to DLR in 2 weeks, and then WDW in October...it would have been perfect :sad2:

Yay, we'll be there in May and I was hoping we'd avoid the WOC crowds. :)

My thoughts exactly. :) As much as I want to see WOC, I would definitely rather wait until the opening rush is over. Plus it will give me something to look forward to doing on the next trip!

NOOOOOO!!!! That's the day we arrive! Back when we picked these dates (june 1-4) WOC was opening in March. It looks like our best bet would be to visit DCA when it has reduced hours on the 3rd (due to grad nite, no WOC for sure). Our APs are expiring that weekend and this is our last hurrah. We aren't arriving until the early afternoon, so hopefully we will at least be able to get into DL that day. I so hope this isn't true!

That is interesting. And a bit frightening, that will be one expensive AP
for sure.

We are going in Late June as well. I guess I will plan for a mobbed park, people saving seats for hours, and general chaos for our DCA visits. I wonder if WOC will pull people from DL or increase the number of people all around. Oh, the humanity!!!! :lmao: I need to plan!!!! The unknown is going to drive me crazy. ;)

Disney seems to be considering a FP type of thing called ShowPass. That may keep crowds down. And should prevent people holding seats for hours like Fantasmic.

I read on the Orlando Sentinel site that the pass is rumored to be in the $800 range. Ouch!

We too were planning to go that first week of June. May have to rethink that.

Oh no :scared1:I have a trip booked the first week in June. I might have to rethink that!

I had a message from Disney Dining the other day that my reservations at Ariel's Grotto for the 23rd of March were being pushed back 40 minutes due to them 'trying out' WoC. When I called the woman I talked to said they were pushing back ALL the times 40 minutes, but she wouldn't say if 'trying out' meant testing, or soft openings, or dress rehearsals, or what. She did say that the park would still be open until 9, and that some other things in the area might be closed temporarily while the 'tryout' was going on, but that it shouldn't disrupt our day... much. All that to say that if they ARE doing soft openings at the end of the month, I doubt it will be clear to June before it's officially open. Course, I still don't know what 'trying out' means. :)

Good point..I feel the same way. We'll be there May 12-15 and I wasn't relishing the WOC crowds as much as I want to see it. It looks like Fantasmic is maybe still down then also...that 's a bummer
