Curious about the WoC picnic options as far as taste of food and what age is considered a child?

What's the viewing like for the picnic area? We did the reserved seating at WCT and it was amazing. Had to line up almost 2 hours early but that was opening week. Have crowds decreased at all? We'll be there for two weekdays the week of Nov 28-Dec 3.

:thanks: and :worship:

Can't help out much as we won't be getting ours until next weekend, but just wanted to address the "age" question. I ordered a children's meal for myself, and I am 22. A lot of people on here have done this as well, and so far no one has had any problems. The pass you get with the meal is just a general one, and does not specify 'adult' or 'child', and both meals are the same price. So, from what we know here, there is no real age for these meals.

The adult and child picnic lunches are the same price so they don't even give options for ages.

We ordered the WOC picnic lunches (2 adults, 1 child) for our trip last month. We found them to be very tasty and it was a very convenient low cost way of getting a fast pass to see WOC. We got a pass for the Yellow section and was very happy with our vantage point.

With a picnic you will get either a blue or yellow ticket, these sections are on the sides of the section you last viewed from. As with any section being near a rail is what counts for getting a good unblocked view.

The crowds for WOC have not decreased, unfortunately, as there is very little space relative to the number of people in the park, even on a slow day. The amphitheater only holds about 4,000 people, so every show is a "sell-out."

Good point about the being near the rails. How early should we line up?

Awesome! The food sounds looks good online. Can you eat while you wait?

Thank you! We have two picky, not my children, teens going and will most likely want the pb and j. :faint:

Have you all found it worth it to do the reserved picnic lunch vs trying your luck with the FP machine?

I just re-looked at your dates, and we will be there some of the same time - mid-week (weekends are a different story, but usually WOC has also more than one showing on weekends).

I really don't think the parks are going to be that crowded that week...we've been before with crowds like I am expecting/hoping, and just made sure we were at the gates for DCA opening at 9:30 (we got to the security at 9). We actually went and rode Soarin' first since there was no line, then headed to the FP machine, and still got blue. I haven't heard recently, but the last reports had FPs consistently running out between 11 and noon.

We will do the same this time (maybe not the Soarin' part).

If we were going at a time when I thought the crowds would be heavy or on a weekend, I would definitely do the picnics to ensure a FP.

Don't know if that helps you...:lmao:

We saw this twice last week in October. Wednesday we had ordered picnic meals (2 childrens meals and 1 adult one although we were 2 adults 1 child and no questions asked)

Friday we wanted to see the late show at 11.00 (as we had a dinner reservation and wanted to go to Downdown Disney to do some shopping) and coudnt get FPs for that showing til 7.30. We kept checking and they were still for the earlier show so they arent running out as fast as they did

The food was very good, although tiny... like the chicken legs looked like pigeon legs. :) Not the portion size you think of when you think Disney. Also, it is cold.
Differences between kids and adult meal:
Kids get small water, OJ or plain milk, adults can get bottled water or soda.
Adult meal gets the dessert named in the meal, kid's meal gets a cupcake w/ no icing.
The kid's meal comes with one of the light-up wrist bands.
We did a day-of, so we had the picnic for lunch, and snacked on a loaf of sourdough while we waited.

^^^^ pigeon legs. :rotfl2:

It looks like the picnic meals are unavailable during our 2 days so I made a PS at WCT. At least I know we'll get a good spot. :thumbsup2

we are there almost that same time period, what two days were you looking at so I can cross them off for knowing there is no picnic's avail? Thanks!

Saw WOC last night. Got picnic food was mediocre but got it for the FP since tome plane landed did not get us to park until 5:30pm. Got yellow section. Got there real early was at front went in all the way left towards the middle on rail great spot!

Checked again this morning and scored the picnic meals for 11/30. First dose of Disney magic for this trip. :woohoo:
