So DH and I are going to be one of the crazy folks going to NYE at the DLR. We have never done it before and are going in with eyes wide open. Yes, it will be super crowded, more crowded than we have ever seen, but we still would like to ring in the New Year there. :thumbsup2

We are leaning more towards DCA, just because it will probably be less crowded and we can have some champagne. Also WOC is hands-down my favorite show at the parks. We would like some information on how you get a WOC FP for the midnight showing. Is it exactly the same as the other FPs that are given out? So they will probably be distributing them last? Any information that anyone may have regarding this would be helpful, including what time they ran out last year, etc. Thank you in advance! :wizard:

I hope you can get a specific answer on how you get tickets for that special NYE show.

If it just gets distirbuted as the 3rd show of the night, here is some information that should help.

When it's busy it takes about 30 minutes a color, 90 minutes per show to distribute the FPs. So it could be about noon, 9:15 am+3 hours, when you might consider getting in line for the Show Passes.

Thanks for the info! I hope the midnight show is the last one.

Just to follow up, I read an account of NYE 2010. This doesn't mean it will be like the this year, but it could be.

The 12 am show tickets were distributed last, last year, but you could get them anytime before as well, you just had to ask for that show when you got to the FP machines. They had FPs left into the early afternoon.

In only my speculation, the NYE WoC is looking like a lot better option to the DL Fireworks. DCA will be super busy, but not packed to the max like DL. To view WoC from Paradise Park the viewing area has a set capacity, where as people will smash in shoulder to shoulder on the Hub and Mainstreet until you can't budge. The WoC NYE show also has fireworks in addiction to the fountain show. So overall I think DCA will be more pleasant and have a better midnight show.

If like last year, they will hand out party favors in Condor Flats in the evening and have a bigger ElecTRONica party going on.

My husband and I are also gonna be there on NYE; however, I'm still torn on which park to ring in the new year. I love the firework at DL, but I'm afraid that it may get too crowded and crazy for us to enjoy it.

Thank you again! I will just make a beeline for the WOC FP distribution and get the midnight showing. DCA is sounding better and better to me. I watched the fireworks/WOC show from last year on YouTube and it looked great! Add in ElecTRONica and champagne and I am pretty much sold. Main Street in DL looked crazy crowded. At least for WOC there are restrictions on how many folks can be in Paradise Park. :thumbsup2
