Ok experts, we were planning on going late June around 22-27. But now I keep reading more about WOC and I'm getting worried about the crowd levels due to it's opening. Should we wait and go another time in the summer or later? I can handle crowds, but not major crowds as we have a 2yr old. I just want the longer hours and more rides open period, other than that it doesn't matter on the month. Thanks!! I'm so confused on when to go again

WOC is going to make things busy all year long especially at DCA in the evenings. Next year Little Mermaid and Star Tours 2 will do the same. The year after CarsLand will do the same. Moral to the story? Do not put off a DLR visit just because of crowds and new shows and rides. If possible try to avoid the SoCal AP holders and go during blockouts.

I think thats great advice. Last year the only time we could make was the week in August that everyone was unblocked. It was crazy, let me tell you! But luckily there are some awesome tips on here and we still had an amazing time. Have a good trip :)

Is there an official opening date for WoC? I'm thinking of booking a summer trip but I thought I read somewhere that it was being pushed back. Screamscape has a rumor that it may be July.

Disney has it set on June 1st.

Any truth to the "STANDING ONLY" viewing rule? If this is really true, I think it's not going to be much fun with small children. I"m tall so I won't personally care, but if it's anything like standing for fireworks you can forget it.

Thanks for the info! June 1st is a Tuesday...interesting. I had been imagining it opening on a Friday, but that probably wouldn't be a good idea anyway--they're probably figuring that by opening on Tuesday they can reduce crowds a bit better. (Goodness knows a lot of fans would ditch work on a Friday to show up. :flower3: )

I hope that date (or earlier) sticks. I'm not sure which would be worse--having it open during my trip (=completely insane crowds) or not seeing it at all (a la Murphy in June 2009...).

I thought it was May but I'm SO excited it's June...hehehehe! We'll have a more quiet June trip and then come back later in the year to see WOC :)
