I know about a year ago before the platform was done there were a lot of black scissor lifting things in the dry lagoon. They weren't laid out in a regular fashion to move the whole platform as we see it today. It doesn't seem that they would waste the smooth water of paradise Bay with this obstruction all day. But I have neve seen a photo since the water has been refilled of the platform in a possible down posistion. Have you? Do you have a link?

Jack, what speciffically did you find on the disneygeek.com site?

I've looked, but not seen anything showing the WoC platform out of site. Is there one on disneygeek showing otherwise? Is so where?

I think they mean completely under water. I wish they'd go ALL the way under water because those things sticking up are ugly

Thanks LuLusApple :)

I do hope they submerge more. The fountains at the bellagio are just over the surface. Of course that aren't mounted on a adjustable platform. I suspect though that it may of been partially down for the technician, shown a few frames later, to work.

Though the pictures taken from the bridge between the warf and paradise bay, don't show the surface terribly disrupted.

Just wondering if there has been any change on this. I just saw some recent day pics of DCA and the fountains were in a raised position in the middle of the afternoon. I thought they had built a platform that was capable of hiding them during the day. This really brings down the aesthetic of Paradise Bay, and I hope it's not permanent. I had read at one point that due to a small earthquake in the DL area, the platform had been damaged, but that was quite awhile ago.

This thread if you look at the dates on the other posts predates the opening of WoC.

However around the time of that earthquake you mention, which was not near DL I believe it was near Mexicali, the west most portion of the WoC platforms has stopped operating.

We had a room at the Villas at the Grand Californian a couple of weeks ago, facing the World of Color. So we noticed the fountains up each day. Curiously, sometimes one side was up, the other down, and vice versa. Sometimes both were up. But we never saw them all down, and I agree, it would be much nicer if they went down during the day......

We saw them all down over the last weekend in January. We were there just before dusk, when they were just getting ready to raise them before the show. They raised one quadrant at a time and we watched from atop the Fun Wheel. That was when I wrote this blog.

I had made a mental note of it, since it was the first time I had ever seen them all down.

For the first 6 months, they were always up, but after that they do go down.

but since Disney Rocks uses part of the fountains, that section does stay up for the time being and they do sink it when they are done...

but yeah, lately, its been staying up in maintance mode...
