WoC Guinea Pig Roll Call

We will be in the parks June 14 -18. I am not looking forward to being a guinea pig. I think we'll be avoiding WOC as much as is humanly possible. I told DD that since this is our first visit, missing WOC will be our excuse to make a second trip within the next couple years. :thumbsup2

Guinea pigs serve such a useful purpose in life. Just think of the service you will give to the rest of Disney humanity... :goodvibes

Indeed we do. I feel obligated to bring my laptop just to throw in a qiuck blurb regarding the viewing details.

We will be there from June 22 to June 25th. Still not sure if we're brave enough to try WOC. I don't want my 6 and 2 yo to get trampled... Of course, who knows when we'll be back to DLR...

I don't think it will be a trampling mosh pit situation.

:thumbsup2 Good plan but I wouldn't miss it. We won't be back to Disneyland until 2013 most likely after CarsLand is complete.

We will be there during the first day of WoC June 10 - 13 and planning on seeing WoC and hope to tell u other DISs about the experience of seeing WoC. I'm hoping it will not be bad that day, but I expect it to be ugly during that first week.

With the Fastpasses it might be possible, but then again, it might turn out that they wouldn't be able to SEE the show anyway, due to their height.

If I had little kids (or even kids who were significantly shorter than me, regardless of age!) I think I'd definitely plan NOT to go. (My mom saw a girl get elbowed while we were making our way over for Fantasmic! though I suppose if Disney manages to enforce a line situation things would be much safer.) And if I had kids who kids actively didn't want to see the show then I'd be OK with that.

But with no kids, I can try it. :)

If I skipped things due to height, I'd miss a ton. I am 5' 1" on a good day.

I am still hoping that my villa request comes through and if it does we will be able to see WoC from our deck. :wizard: In that case, I doubt our entire group will battle the crowds unless we get FPs for GCV guests as previously rumored but I will. I am determined to see it full view even if I have to go it alone.

We'll be there! :cool1: We are coming down for a few days (driving down Monday the 14th and staying until Saturday morning). Hoping to catch it Tuesday and Friday (Wed & Thur are grad nights).

We will be attempting the show on Tuesday June 15. Unfortunately with Grad Nights this is the only day our entire group of 10 will be in the parks from open to close that WOC is showing! If I have a chance I will certainly post about our experience.

We'll be there the 21st thru the 24th. I'm planning on skipping it. I'll be on TOT or TSMM while it's going on. My daughter and I might be in DLR in the Fall with my parents so we can catch it then. Although I might get caught up in the hoopla and have to see while there.

I'd love to read your post regardless of if you're successful in seeing the show or not. (Though I hope you CAN see it! )

Just want to let all you folks know, that you'll be in my thoughts and prayers during those first few weeks of WoC...I'll be praying for patience for you, and praying you won't get trampled...May the force be with you...Amen.. :lmao:

Thank you kind soul.
:worried:

Hey! You are technically second wave guinea pig...

Dis boards are playing with me today...grr haven't been multiquoting right and lost my first response to this thread.

We'll be there the June 21-25th. I won't even try the first day as we will get in sometime in the afternoon. The second day I'll take a shot I guess but I think Wednesday will be a better day for it as the passes are blocked. Thu. is a grad night, and Friday I'll try again, I imagine though, even if the passes are blocked Fri night will be very busy for it. I'm not worried we'll be able to see it at least once our visit. Coordinating the relatives will be a whole different ball game though.
I just hope the first weeker's will have some info on the best color area and what time the fast passes start--if any. Also If there will be 3 shows and what happens if there's no fast passes for the second 2.
I think we should hold secret meetings before the shows at test pilots grill....

We'll be trying to see WOC sometime between June 18 and 24 ... depending on the reports of earlier guinea pigs! Still a bit worried about attempting it with DS3. :scared:

So what do you think about this whole color/section stuff is about?

Well according to Albort it is a rainbow of choices:goodvibes One thing that confuses me is will it be people throwing away crappy tickets for a chance at a good one??? or once they try for a ticket is that it and you get what you get??

If they use machines, I can't imagine that it WON'T be "you get what you get." My guess is that machines are meant to prevent people from claiming multiple WoC FPs in one day.

Otherwise, it would be much faster to just have CMs handing out passes to a line of people--after all, if you're in DCA, you're a valid ticket-holder, plus that would prevent people from getting tickets for their whole family, so they could somewhat more accurately gauge line length and close it off if necessary. So if they weren't trying to keep people from claiming multiple sets, I'm not sure they'd use your ticket.

(The only other issue I can think of with having CMs hand them out personally would be that machines are better for randomizing things than CMs are, because machines can't be swayed by a begging, etc. and it's better to have people get mad at a machine than a person. But I still think that if you could try again, they wouldn't bother with the expense and bother of using FP machines. Of course, if it turns out you CAN try again, then you can color me mistaken. :lmao: )

I bet our tickets won't allow us to get more than one FP for WoC per day.

So you think each machine will have a designated color? I cannot imagine putting in our 6 tickets and coming out with different colors/sections. :rotfl:

All of us will be hovering around the FP machines playing a big game of Go Fish: Do you have an Orance C? Go Fish.

Ah, this is why soft-openings were created...so that things would be ORGANIZED by roll out time. Alas, Disney seems to have forgotten that one.

We're there June 11-17, so :scared:. But, it will work out, or it won't. And since we missed Fantasia last time, the one big benefit is that hopefully everyone will be flocking to hang off lamposts and crowding into the "pens" to view WOC, so we hopefully will get some good seats for it, and some fun rides in the dark. Since it's just my daughter and I, I can see us standing for hours, and she has to go to the bathroom right before WOC, and we'll lose our spot in the crowd. So, I'm trying to decide if I even wish to bother.

Now, if there was a dining package, I would break my "HOW MUCH!" rule, and buy one, but since they don't have that organized either at this point, oh well.

I heard rumors there may be testing Memorial Day weekend...anyone know if that's true?

I think I am considered late first wave - we will be there 6/29 to 6/24 and like Jenny, I am determined to see it!! Can't wait!
