My wife is confined to an ECV due to heart conditions and terminal liver disease. She is incapable of standing for any length of time. We have visited WDW twice since she had this condition (for a total of 10 visits) and had no problem getting around or viewing shows. We are planning our first visit to DLR in May of next year and wonder about viewing WOC. If we book one of the special WOC dinners, will that guarantee us a place for seeing the show without people standing in front of her, or is it a waste of money since the HC marked areas are all in the back of the viewing area? If we choose not to dine, do we need to obtain a Fastpass to see the show?

If you do not dine, you will need a FP. There are several HC areas. I have never had a problem with the viewing from an ECV.

People have reported that this new WOC has better viewing from farther back. So the HC bench view should be good.

You will need to get a FP. There is a HC seating section in each fastpass area. When we went with my mom, she stayed in her ECV. It was crowded, so they asked the rest of us to stand behind the ECV. There are benches, but they try to keep those for folks who don't have ECVs but need to be seated. We thought the viewing was quite good from the blue HC area...no heads in the way!

On my DD's BD trip (in Jan of 2014), 4 of us accompanied my mother--my dad, brother, me and my daughter. We were given very clear instructions that we were to STAND behind the ECVs. The CMs who work that area are awesome!
