WOC Dinner Package vs FastPass

So, what's the point of the WOC Dinner Package if anyone can get a FastPass to WOC? Trying to decide how to best visit Ariel's Grotto... Lunch using the dining vouchers and FP WOC, or do the dinner package?

The difference is the location. The WOC dinner package guests have their own viewing area for WOC, separate from regular FP people. There is a map in the big WOC thread on here.

Our recent experience: We are not DL regulars, but we were there last month-- first time seeing WOC. I soooo wished we had the package. We were in the blue section and felt like sardines. Even close to the front, I didn't think it was a great spot. Also, I don't know if it would be like this in the dining section, but where we were people were talking loudly the whole time.... I mean that could very well be an isolated incident, but I imagine if you pay more for the reserved section you would be more into watching the show. I don't know. But I did turn to DH the minute it ended saying we should've forked up the extra money for the dining package.

That was just our experience--YMMV. I am sure there were plenty of people who think the FP is just fine. But we don't see ourselves visiting DL again, those sorts of nostalgic shows mean a lot to me, and this was our only night to see the show. So in our situation, I wish we had gone with the package.

This is why we do it! The WOC dining package sections aren't crowded and packed in like sardines! It's a pleasant experience for us!

Honestly, unless you intend to eat there anyway, just get the FP. The difference is negligible.
I'd agree with this. We did the Carthay Circle WOC lunch package, but solely because we wanted to eat at CC anyway, so why not get the package. If we weren't eating there anyway, we'd just do the regular FP and plan on finding spots a bit earlier.

We had the Carthay lunch package and were pleased we did. It was our third visit to the resort and previous two times had got regular fastpasses, but with the crowds there our kids had a hard time seeing anything. With the dining package we all had a great view.

We had FastPasses and it was fine. We didn't feel like sardines and got a spot where we could see (important 'cause I'm short and the kids are even shorter). I could see if you were already planning to eat at one of those restaurants, but not other than that.

The problem is that you can still end up with people in front of you wherever you stand. Even if you are at the rail, someone on the level below you might put a child on their shoulders.

We have gone both with a FP and with a dining pass and the only time I had an issue was when we went with the dining pass. We were front and center at the rail. Then someone stood a child on a trash can right below us. I guess my thing is that I tend to expect less when I haven't paid a lot of money for dinner. Dinner was spectacular though. And that was our only way to guarantee a spot that day since it was a busy Saturday and we weren't arriving until around 5.
