Hi,
We're headed to Disneyland in mid March, 4 days no park hopper. Kids will be 4 1/2 and 1 1/2 at the time. Its getting closer to the 60 days out for reservations for dining and I'm still struggling to decide if we should do the WOC Dessert Package or not. The plan is to head back for lunch and naps at the hotel daily but I'm wondering if 9pm and the stimulation of the parks will be too much to make this a pleasant experience come showtime or if its really unmissable. We're coming from New Zealand so it's not like this will be an every year trip for us.

Anyone done this with kids of a similar age and how did it go?

Opinions on if it's really worth the money?

Thanks!

We did the dessert party in June. It was me, my husband, and our almost 3 year old so we didn’t have to pay for her. We took a midday nap and she made it through the first show just fine. She did have to sit on my lap and she did get somewhat antsy during the show, but there is no way I could have stood for a 30 minute show holding her in a crowded area so this was the only way I would have seen it with her. It was worth it when we didn’t have to pay for her and we both drank our 2 alcoholic beverages! We are going back in March with more family and we aren’t doing the dessert party because it is so expensive. I won’t try to see World of Color with her, but she might go back to the room with grandma while I stay and help a few first timers see it with the virtual queue. Fingers crossed We get it. 🤞🏻 My daughter enjoyed Fantasmic more since we were front row with the Standard River Belle package. Personally, I am more likely to do that again over the more expensive dessert party.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'd only been leaning toward WOC as I haven't seen that and I have seen Fantasmic but maybe I should consider that.

They were both great! My husband liked World of Color better and I liked Fantasmic better, but I don’t think you can go wrong either way. I think my daughter liked Fantasmic better because we were front row and you are a little bit back for the World of Color Dessert party, but she loved eating my desserts!

If you do decide you want to see World of Color and want to splurge, then I think the dessert party would definitely be the best way to see it with young kids just for the seats! I could not hold her while standing for that long of a show and she wouldn’t be able to see over other people if we didn’t hold her.246D2194-35A1-4D61-9BFE-CDCBBEF0DAC4.jpeg

If you want to see WOC, the dessert package makes it easier with young kids. The dessert party has a table with seats, and the kids will be able to see. The other viewing areas are standing only so unless you are holding up a young child, or in the wet zone at the rail, it is very difficult for them to see. We did all kinds of shows with DD back when she was 3 and 4 and she always did fine. 1 1/2- I don't know. That is pretty little. We really like WOC. We've done the dessert package several times-- before that we did the dining package and went down in the wet zone at the rail. I'm short and it can be really hard for me as an adult to see if we aren't on the rail. Dessert package is more pleasant while you are waiting for the show to start as you have a chair.

My family loved the WOC dessert party and would do it again for sure. (My kids are older). The dessert party was definitely worth it for us because of the view and not having to stand to watch. I have a bad back so I wouldn't have watched WOC otherwise.

The park will be busy, but once you're in the dessert party area it's very relaxing. Your kids would have a good view, too. Standing they might not see much. I bet they would like the desserts!

My only hesitation about bringing a 1 1/2 year old is that the show starts very late, and I know my kids at that age could be tired/cranky if they stayed up too late.
