WOC and PTN in the Summer?

Hi all,

This might have been asked/brought up a few times, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around it so I can plan my trip better/efficiently.

I have a 4 one-day per park ticket for an upcoming trip in August.
I was planning to only use 1 day for DCA and the rest for DL.
However, now that WOC and PTN are both at DCA and the showtimes are a bit tight, would I only be able to see one?
I was planning to do the WOC Dessert Party but that starts at 8 and the PTN Parade is at 8:45 :(
Would there be a second showing of WOC? Is there a Dessert Party for that?
Or is there a second showing of PTN in the summer?

Do I have to consider giving DCA two days?

Thank you all for your responses in advance!

The WOC Dessert Party is only for the first show. When in August are your trip dates? If your dates are before the entertainment schedule switches to low season (usually sometime around the end of the third week/by the fourth week of the month), there should be two PTN parades each night. If there are two parades, you should have no problem doing WOC and then seeing the second parade. If your trip is after the schedule goes to low season, then you might want to give DCA two days or think about upgrading to park hoppers. Although, I think I read a post from someone who watched PTN from near the check in area for the Dessert Party, then ran to the podium right after the end of the parade. So you might be able to do that, but you would give up much of your relaxing time with your food and beverage.

WOC and PTN have not run on the same night in DCA. WOC will return in late June.

They both ran on the same night as the media preview. @wnwardii can help answer questions. However one thing of note the parade ran in the opposite direction that night then how it’s been running since it officially premiered.

Yes, that was the post I remember reading. Since the OP isn't visiting until August, there should be more reviews about seeing both WOC and PTN before her trip if she keeps monitoring these threads.

During the media preview, I did the WOC dessert party just after the PTN parade. If I recall correctly, the start of check-in for WOC wasn't until after PTN had finished or was just beginning as the last PTN floats went past. The check-in for WOC is basically across from Ariel's attraction. So I just camped out there for PTN and then walked across to the check-in. You could even camp out on the side of the street that the WOC check-in is occurring. May be less hassle trying to cross the road after PTN the night finishes. I would also just keep checking the times for when WOC will have its check-in and when the PTN parade will run. Times do change.

One thing I will note, if you check-in for WOC and go to the tables, you really will not be able to see much of PTN. You are a below the street level at this point and there are planters/trees as well as people standing between you and the parade. So really would not be able to see much from the WOC Dessert party area.

I have the WOC dessert party for June 27, and it is at 9:30. The PTN dining packages are only at 5 and 5:30, so I believe that PTN will be at 8:45-9:00 and WOC will be at 10-10:15.
I am banking on being able to watch PTN from the CC viewing area, then get to the dessert party for WOC.

What are the odds of having 2 PTN parades and 2 WOC now that they are both in the same park?

That's definitely what I'm going to do, I'm going to stay optimistic and keep monitoring the forums! Thank you for your help, @theluckyrabbit !

Thanks for the first-hand information! Definitely taking your tips into consideration!

Nice! I hope they have this similar schedule in August too!

Is adding hopper out of the question? That is what we would do. For us, hopper is not a necessity at WDW (although the flexibility is nice), but it is pretty much a necessity at DLR. That would give you the ability to spend most of the day at DLR, but to hop over for PTN or WOC.
