We have never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas.

What is there that is cool to do?

How is the pool?

Cheers for ears.

Paul

WLV is absolutely gorgeous.

You can rent bikes, or even the little water mice, or a boat. Take the boat transportation over to Ft Wilderness and go to the petting zoo, and look at the MK horses in their stables. You could even walk the trail to the Ft. from WL as well.

The pools are great. The main pool can get busy though, and the slide is only open until 8 pm. The Villas pool is nice though and it bubbles, and there is a spa as well.

Just a warning transportation can be a little slow. Meaning they share it with other resorts. When we went to MGM and DTD, we stopped at GF. When we took the boat to MK and the Contemporary we stopped at the FT. first. But all in all it wasn't that bad.

We absolutely loved it there.

We are huge VWL fans. I don't really know how cool this is, but we enjoy just looking around each of the Lodges. There are so many nooks and crannies in each that it takes several hours to really get to enjoy them. There is a list of 'Hidden Mickeys' at the front desk. They are not easy to find, we have yet to find them all!

We also enjoy walking over to FW. We eat at Trail's End once in a while and it is a beautiful walk (oops, just saw poster above wroth that, sorry)

The Electrical Water Parade goes by every night (9:35 I think). We always see it at least 1 night per trip.

We also try to stay up very late at least once per trip and visit the lobby of the WL. It is so beautiful when nobody is there! So quiet. We love to do night/low light photography and that is the perfect time.

Don't forget to watch the geyser! Have a wonderful trip.

PS I like your 'cheers for ears' salutation.

This is our favorite resort. It is so beautiful there. It is a lodge. The grounds are great, there are walking trails, bikes, fishing, boating. There is a Geyser that erupts every hour on the hour. Numerous things.

You'll just love VWL.....it's our family's favorite. It's amazing, but, when you're at VWL/WL you would swear you're somewhere in the Northwest (Yellowstone, Wyoming, etc.) It's like you walk through those doors and are magically transported from Florida!! One of our favorite things to do is rent a pontoon boat and cruise around Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon for an hour. You could even take a picnic lunch with you and eat while you're cruising. It's very relaxing. Also, we've rented surrey bikes and rode to Ft. Wilderness on the path. That was fun. VWL is our home resort and we just love to go "home"........we're headed there in mid January with the whole family (six of us)....can't wait!!!

How much time do you have Paul,
First I absolutely love the VWL so in no way are my suggestions going to be objective.
First, when you check in, oops what I should say is after closing your mouth and start moving again.. Check out the surroundings. WL is theming at its best. Take the time to look around, they host tours of the lodge. unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go on one but I heard they are very informative and interesting. Wait until you get a load of the elevator doors! (Granny has pictures, maybe we can get him to post them again). Take in the music playing through out the resort.

The pool is very nice, don't know if you are traveling with children but my kids like it. They did think it was a little small but they did enjoy the cm's organizing games. Belly up to the pool bar, its right next to the pool.
The kids have an arcade and a kids club on site. The marina rents water craft.

Not sure when you are going, but if the weather is nice- one of my favorite activities to do was actually not doing any thing at all. I would wake up early in the morning, grab a cup of coffee and some thing ridiculously fattening (remember Disney calories don't stick) and take in the view of the geyser and the lake. Its a great way to start a hetic day.

Enjoy!

Actually, I'm "borrowing" this from Deb Will's site....

And I agree with everyone's comments. Eliza61 is right...one of the best things to do at VWL/WL is nothing. It is a great haven from the hectic pace of the parks, and if you like the theming you will find it completely enchanting.

The pool is kind of small for the main pool of a resort, but it also ties right into the theming. A bubbling spring is located in the lobby which feeds a creek that goes outside, winds through rocks and vegetation and ends up (or so it appears) filling the pool! So the pool is themed to be a swimming hole fed by a mountain creek. And the view of Bay Lake as a backdrop makes it a wonderful spot! It has a small slide that the kids enjoy, and there is another quiet pool over by the Villas.
