DW, DDs (7 & 4), and myself staying 6 nights 1st week of FEB at BC Villas and have decided to start trip 2 days early! :D Pretty experienced Disney Vet, however mostly at Poly and looking to sample other resorts. Budget not major factor but noticed nice savings on AKL and WL. Thinking MK resorts since majority of stay will be at Epcot Resorts. Stayed a night at AKL two years ago prior to Poly visit and loved it but found location not the greatest.

Is WL worth a couple of nights, or would it be worth extra to stay at GF or Contemp? Thanks!

It all depends on what atmosphere you prefer. I absolutely love WL! We stayed there in 2001 and will return May 2005. We like the relaxed, calm atmosphere of the Wl grounds. That is also one of things that I loved about Poly. I think the rustic, calm atmosphere of the Poly and WL are great. If I had to choose, I'd say try WL. We had originally planned on staying at the Contemporary, but our hearts kept drawing us back to WL.
Transportation to Mk is nice. We loved the boat ride!

I think you'll love it. The theming is wonderful, down to the western music piped into the lobby. Request a inner courtyard view room, lovely views of the pool, Bay Lake and the Geyser. If you're interested I have a great pic taken from our 6th floor balcony. I have to e-mail it though because I have no clue how to post pictures here. We're going back there in April '05 for Spring Break, kids can't wait.

My vote is for WL. I have trouble staying anywhere else now. We got such a good deal on the CR that we stayed there in Oct instead, but we found ourselves longing for the wonderful atmosphere of the WL. I have stayed at the CR and the GF many times and think each of those resorts are fantastic, but there is just something so relaxing about the WL. It's definitely worth trying.

Hey Robin,
We are looking for a nice courtyard room for Feb. Have you any bunk bed room numbers?
Thanks,
Tara

Becareful. ;) Many of us find that once we stay at the lodge it is hard to pull ourselves away and stay anywhere else.

My family will be at the WL for the first time in May 2005. My Dh picked this resort because he loved the pictures and the closness of all the rooms. I do worry in my dd's (4&5) will like it. Believe it or not they keep saying they want to stay at AS movies again. We over-ruled and upgraded.

We are going to the WL in feb with our 31/2 and 5 yr old children. I know that my kids will love the bunk beds and waterfalls. There is also storytelling there at night. The geyser is also going to be a big hit. The bost ride to the MK is going to be cool also. There is no doubt in my mind that kids would love the WL. Be confident with your choice because it is a great one.

Tara, DH is an ER doc, he's terrified of bunk beds! Of course the girls are livid, but the downside of the bunk bed rooms is I'd have to share a queen bed with DH, who's 6'2" and a bit of a bed hog. What usually happens is we wind up doing the kids swap. You know, I take the kicker and he has the perpendicular sleeper/ tosser one night, then we swap the next night. Makes us appreciate our pillow top king so much more when we get home::yes:: I think our room was 6039, it was two doors down from the overlook into Artist's Point. We had a great view of the pool, lake and geyser. In fact it woke me up each morning at 7AM. FYI, they stop the eruptions each night from 10PM to 7AM to keep from bothering the guests. Well, time to play with my new toy. I just bought the new Brother Sewing/ embroidery machine "Disney" edition. Time to try embroidering sweatshirts for the girls. Wish me luck folks, I've never used a sewing machine at all! :earseek: :earseek:

rcraw,
There is nothing worse than sharing a bed with my kids. They kick and flop on me all night. It drives me insane. The kids will have no choice with the bunk situation. They will behave on them or they will not go to the parks. Ohh..... I sound so strict. LOL. They better not call my bluff. I have read some of your posts in the past and it gets me pumped for our WL trip. Thanks for the info.
Tara
