WL was just on Travel Channel

I'm so excited now about the upcoming trip and getting to WCC and HDDR. The host of the show was tres annoying, but I'll put up with that and see the rest that they'll show of the Disney properties.

We are staying at the WL for Thanksgiving, I have been very excited about it until I saw it on the travel channel. She made it look loud and crazy. We booked a deluxe hoping it would be a little less busy. I hope we didn't make a mistake.

The Travel Channel repeats its series of WDW resort shows every couple of months. Just keep searching the program listing on their website and you'll find it. You might also find it aired again at 3 AM tonight for that matter.

1st i love the host Samantha Brown. 2nd When I stay at WL the minute I hit that lobby I feel so Relaxed-The restaurant WCC is loud but the rest of WL is very relaxing. You will love it.

When I was staying at the Poly in May, one afternoon was was waiting for the monorail behind her. I got on the same car with her. She was with a VIP guide and a woman I took to be a show exec. When there was an opening in their conversation, I said, "So, Samantha, is this one of the Great Hotels?" She said she was just looking around the Poly, and she loved it. She said they were staying at AKL and really liked it also. They got off at MK and she said "have a great vacation" to me when they got off. I think she is a little crazy on the show, but she was very pleasant in person.

I saw it and thought the episode was nice. The Whipering canyon was loud but that is part of the charm other then that it seemed like a nice restful yet fun place to vacation. I bet you will love it!

I also like Samantha Brown. She gets you excited about whatever she is doing.

I recorded the show, and watched it again, I feel better about it now. Mostly I thought it was going to be a little much for my husband, but he thought it looked kind of fun. He is sometimes reserved. I know the kids will love it though.

I think one of the last words in the world I'd use to describe the Wilderness Lodge is "crazy"! You're right, Samantha Brown does get a bit enthusiastic, wherever she is staying, but I happen to enjoy that aspect of her hotel reviews

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Like others have already said, only Whispering Canyon Cafe can get loud, and not even all the time. I can honestly say that I've never been more relaxed at a hotel/resort than when we were sitting in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge

I recorded the show for my family. I was very excited. We have only stayed at AKL and loved it. We are currently booked for AKL next July, but had considered splitting a stay at WL. Please, no flames, but I didn't like the looks of the WL rooms or hallways. They didn't appear as cozy as AKL. I felt as though it was a room you would see in a "before" makeover picture. My kids did not like the look of the WL pool and the geyser did nothing for them. The lake and watersports was nice, but we could always go there to do that. The lobby was beautiful, but the rest of WL just did not have the look of a deluxe hotel, where as, AKL (imo) did. We will try the WCC on our next trip, it looked fun, but we will not stay there.
