WL - walkway to buses - is it lit ? covered ?

WL - our next adventure.

Buses to the Parks - is the walkway to the bus pickup/drop off area from the WL have a covering so you do not get wey if it is raining ?

How is the lighting ? If you come back from a Park late at night - is the bus - walkway area well lit ?

It's pretty decent, on both accounts. There is a covered walk, though in a driving rainstorm it won't do much good of course. There is adequate, but deliberatley (in theme) subdued lighting.

I will add that the lighting is not bad and the busses are filled enough that you will feel safe walking back to the lodge with so many people around. We have never felt unsafe there at anytime.

The lighting in the covered walkway from the bus stops to the main lobby is dim by the theme of the WL, but I never thought it too dark or poorly lit to be safe. If it is a concern for you, you can also access the main entrance to the WL by walking up the slope to the main entrance, this is not a covered area, but it is well lit as this is where the cars drive into the drop off area of the main entrance.

Um, I'm not sure the walk up the slope to the main entrance is any better lit than the covered walk -- if anything it is less well-lit.

Hey there Pooh,

Except for the last 4 or 5 steps when getting on and off the buses, the walk to the main lobby is covered. Now if it is raining sideways, as sometimes happens in Florida, there is no refuge anywhere.

Lighting is plenty good, while remaining appropraite for the lodge. Usually at least several people walking there to or from the buses, plus half the walk is part of the walkway between the lodge and the Villas. Enough traffic to have people around, but no so much you feel like you're at the mall. I had no worries about my kids walking there at night to go to the arcade, which is along that walkway.

One thing you'll notice is that every time you step off a bus at the lodge, you'll get this overwhelming feeling of being home. It is comforting and relaxing.

I go to the WL solo ALOT and have never felt unsafe there.....also I have never felt unsafe in the parking lots or the other resort areas, there always seems to be someone around. DD I maybe a little concerned but with the added security of getting into the resort parking lots and the fact that most people are families I just have a real secure feeling while at WDW.
