This is a travel day. Only travel advice is in this post. Nothing about the parks.
My plane leaves at 8:50am (United) so I got up at 5:30am, showered, and hit the road. I had packed the night before.
I left the hotel parking lot at 6am (it was dark). I arrived at the National car drop off at about 6:35am. It took about 3 minutes to give the car back and get my receipt ($195 for the week, after all the taxes and add-ons). I then made the 15 minutes trek to the United check in counter which was packed. I am flying First Class though so I get to go to a special line that only has 4 people in it. It took 15 minutes to check in and I was off to security. I could not tell exactly, but if I had to guess, I would say the regular line took about an hour or more.
I needed my ID to go through security and my boarding pass so have yours ready. I had to remove my laptop to go thru the screening by itself. I went thru and set it off so they had to pat me down and use that wand thingy. The National Guard guys with the M16's were eye-balling me pretty good. I am GLAD they are there.
After I passed inspection, I went to the train out to the terminal. I arrived at the terminal at 7:05 am and had breakfast at a small snack stand and read the paper until 8:20am. At 8:20 am my plane started bording and they once AGAIN asked for ID's to match up to the boarding passes. I like this also, but it does slow things down. We still left on time, off to Denver where I switched planes to go to Billings, MT. When I switched planes, I had to show my ID with the boarding pass again so this is a new proceedure (at least for United Airlines).
United lost my bag so I am still waiting to see it. It has all my gifts for my family in it. I hope it comes soon.
Any Questions?
