Is there anything wrong with the "Standard View" rooms at WL or is it worth the extra $$ to have a Courtyard View"? I've also heard of a "Wood View", but can't find any pricing info on the WDW reservations page. We are planning a six night stay at the WL in February. Let me know your experiences!

We spend the extra $$ for a courtyard view room because we enjoy sitting on the balcony. If a person spends little time in their room and doesn't use the balcony I would think the standard room would be fine. A standard room has a balcony, but the view isn't as good for most of us.

I will also be at the WL this Feb. I believe that it is around $220/ night at rack rate for the value season. I have heard that some of the standard views are near loading docks and noisy areas. I have two young kids so I need a quiet room. In the past there have been some good discounts codes out in Jan. and parts of Feb. We will be there the first week in Feb. We are going to book woods view while hoping to upgrade when the codes are out to courtyard. I have heard a couple people say that they got courtyard for 129.00 a night. We are crossing our fingers.

If you are looking at the reservation system on-line, the Woods View is listed as Lodge View. Same view...different name. :D

Courtyard is running me $169/ night using code BAT for Tu, We, & Th nights. I had booked FR & Sa Courtyard and it was going to be $290:earseek: :earseek: per night. No discount available. I switched those two nights to Poly GV at $244/night. More convenient for us since we're doing the HP at MK on Fr night. Codes do bring the price per night at WL down dramatically for some reason.

One thing for sure, there is not much difference in most views from inside WL -- you see trees! Haven't heard that the hurricanes changed that. Even most so-called "lake views" are basically views of the lake through a pine forest! Not taking anything away from that, but there just is not a lot of difference in the views IMOP.

We were in a Woods View room last month. We were in the south wing. We had a lovely wooded view. If you get the north wing woods view, you may be able to see Wishes at MK. Our view was very quiet and pretty. I would have spent more time on the balcony if we had had a courtyard view. They courtyard is simply lovely. Next time we stay there, I am planning on getting a courtyard view. From what I have read, the standard rooms can be above the loading dock area for the resort. We originally had a standard room booked, but we upgraded to woods view because I did not want to have a room over the loading docks where trucks are coming and going. WL is a beautiful resort, and I think that no matter what type of room you have, you will still enjoy your stay.
