WL Upgrade Question

Hi,
I noticed the AKL upgrade thread and was wondering the same about WL. We have a standard room booked for 4 days in September. I didn't request bunk beds at the time of ressie, I forgot. I plan to call and request the bunks 4 days before arrival. What are the chances of being upgraded? Did you ask to be upgraded or were you surprised upon entering your room? How many of you reserved standard and got standard? Thanks!

I have stayed at Wilderness Lodge many times over the last 11 years and book standard view almost everytime when it's available. I have never stayed in a standard view room. But a standard view would have been fine, sooooo there is always a possibility.

We booked a woods view room in May, and they ugraded us to courtyard view. We found, though, that we didn't really care for the view (it was facing toward the villas) and so asked to move to woods view like we had booked originally, so they moved us to 4001, which was FABULOUS!!!! It was on the lake end of the building and so had a wonderful lake view overlooking the boat dock. We could see the guyser, the EWP, and if we leaned a bit, the MK fireworks!

If you plan on calling realize you probably aren't talking with the resort but a call center. Just call reservations and have your request added to your reservation and that is all you have to do.

We booked a standard in June and we were told at checkin that we were upgraded to conceirge for free. Our room was amazing. It had a direct view of the castle which was nice since we were traveling with a 2 year old and 1 year old. we were able to watch the fireworks from our room every night. Conceirge was so nice and such a surprise. I guess it's the luck of the draw. I would probally pay the next time to stay on the conceirge floor.

I had woods view booked and had req, Q/Bunks, there were no rooms available at check in with that option, They upgraded us to courtyard view(5143) with Q/Q. Room was awesome, we loved it. They did offer us the choice of changing next morning but could not guarantee the location, so we kept what we had. Loved the courtyard view.

Thanks for your replies. Sounds like chances are good that we could get an upgrade but even if we don't a standard room will be nice too!

We payed for standard and got upgraded to courtyard. We were overlooking the pool and Bay Lake, it was beautiful.

We were upgraded in Feb, 2004 to courtyard view from woods view, which we had booked through expedia and I would have booked standard but it wasn't available. Btw, we did not ask for an upgrade, as we were checking in they just said, "we are upgrading you to courtyard view", I was not expecting it or even wanted it, but I was glad to have it!
